This morning (December 20), at the National Convention Center, Hanoi, the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the National Assembly, the President, the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense solemnly held the ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA), and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day.
The 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day are important events for the country and the Army.
The highlight of the Celebration is the epic art program lasting more than 30 minutes, including special music and dance performances, summarizing the entire history of the birth, fighting and victory of the Army as well as affirming the great role of the Vietnam People's Army in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
In particular, the performances and illustrations demonstrate the growth and achievements of our Army in the resistance wars for national liberation, national reunification and the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; at the same time, highlight the functions of the combat army, the working army, and the production labor army of the Vietnam People's Army.
In previous rehearsals, General Phan Van Giang - Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense - requested agencies and units to coordinate closely and promptly complete important tasks; do a good job of preparing in all aspects, ensuring absolute security and safety to successfully organize the Anniversary Ceremony, leaving a good impression on Party and State leaders, international guests and compatriots and soldiers nationwide.
Through 80 years of building, fighting, winning and growing, our Army has built a glorious tradition, summarized in the praise of President Ho Chi Minh: “Our Army is loyal to the Party, filial to the people, ready to fight and sacrifice for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for socialism. Every mission is completed, every difficulty is overcome, every enemy is defeated.”
That tradition is expressed through the following contents: Infinite loyalty to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, to the Party, the State and the People; Determined to fight, determined to win, knowing how to fight and win; Closely attached to the People, the army and the people have the same will; Internal solidarity, cadres and soldiers are equal in rights and obligations, love and help each other, the top and bottom are of one mind, unified in will and action; Self-discipline, strict.
Independence, self-reliance, self-strengthening, diligence, thrift in building the Army, building the country, respecting and protecting public property; A clean, healthy, cultured, honest, modest, simple, optimistic lifestyle; Always upholding the spirit of eagerness to learn, progress, standard and refined behavior; Pure international solidarity, loyalty, righteousness and sincerity.
