On July 29, the Ministry of Public Security held a conference to review the work of the first 6 months of 2024 of the Investigation Police Force (IPF). Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang - Member of the Central Party Committee, Minister of Public Security - chaired the conference.
In the first 6 months of 2024, the IPF nationwide proactively identified types of crimes; advised, implemented decisively and synchronously plans, measures, and effectively organized peak campaigns to attack and suppress crimes and law violations; excellently completed the tasks of crime prevention and combat, creating a premise for successfully carrying out the tasks of 2024, contributing to building an orderly, disciplined, safe, and healthy society.
The work of crime prevention and combat has achieved positive results, becoming increasingly effective. 91,607 crime reports have been received; 81,582 cases and 122,926 defendants have been investigated.
The rate of investigation and solving of social order crimes reached 77.55%. The rate of investigation and solving of high-tech crimes, exploiting cyberspace to commit crimes, is increasing... In investigative activities, the law has been strictly followed; ensuring the progress and quality of investigations, especially economic and corruption cases monitored and directed by the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and Negative Phenomena, provincial and city party committees...
In his concluding remarks, Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized that this is a very important conference, summarizing 14 major results, including 3 outstanding results achieved by the IPF in the first 6 months of 2024.
According to Minister Luong Tam Quang, leaders of police units and localities must have a unified understanding that the work of investigating and handling crimes plays a decisive role and holds a particularly important position in the overall fight against crime, ensuring social order and safety, serving the task of local economic development, and protecting the peaceful and happy life of the people.
Minister Luong Tam Quang also stated the requirement to build the IPF to be truly clean, strong, regular, elite, and modern, first modern in people, modern in methods, and ways of working. Heads and Deputy Heads of the IPF at all levels must set an example, emphasize responsibility in performing tasks, value training, self-reflection, and self-correction, especially focusing on building a team of investigators and investigative officers under their authority with firm political bravery, pure revolutionary ethics, strong legal knowledge, proficient in professional skills, not falling before bribery, attacks by bad elements, and interests.
Absolutely do not abuse power to infringe on the democratic rights of the people, causing damage to common interests and legitimate interests of the people, resolutely fight against corruption, negativity, harassment, indifference, and individualism in the work of investigating and handling crimes.
