On the afternoon of August 18, the Guard Command (Ministry of Public Security) held a ceremony to receive the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces of the Department of Protection of Especially Important Events and International Guests (Room 6).
Attending the ceremony were Politburo Member, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan; Senior Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security.
At the ceremony, on behalf of Party and State leaders, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to the Department of Protection of particularly important events and international guests.
The Vice President assessed that guard work has a particularly important position and role in the cause of protecting national security, protecting the Party, State, and socialist regime.
From 2016 to now, Room 6 has ensured absolute safety for nearly 1,300 important domestic and foreign political events of the country and welcomed more than 750 international delegations, including many heads of state of important Vietnamese partners.
The more we understand the tasks of the guard force, the more moved we are because behind the successful events, the high-level visits taking place safely and thoughtfully, there is so much hard work of training and elaborate practice of guard officers and soldiers," said Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan.
The task of the Guard force is not only to absolutely protect the safety of Party and State leaders, political and foreign affairs activities, but also to make an important contribution to maintaining security and political stability, creating a favorable environment for national development. At the same time, spreading the image of peaceful, friendly, safe and reliable Vietnam to international friends.
The Vice President requested the Guard Command in general and Room 6 in particular to continue building a truly revolutionary, regular, elite, modern, and absolutely loyal guard force... Strongly innovate the thinking, methods, and measures of guard work in the direction of proactively preventing, identifying, forecasting, managing, and resolving risks "from early, from afar".
Promote innovation, apply science, technology and digital transformation in guarding work, gradually master modern means, equipment, and technologies. Rely on the people, promote the overall strength of the political system in guarding work. Improve the effectiveness of international cooperation in guarding, meeting foreign affairs requirements and international integration.
