This information was given by Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Permanent Vice President of the National Press Awards Council - at the 2025 National Press Awards and the 19th - 2024 National Press Awards Ceremony held this morning (June 16).
According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi, entering the 19th year, at a time when press agencies across the country focus on organizing and rearranging the apparatus of the Party and State according to the policy of streamlining the apparatus, the prestige of the National Press Award continues to be firmly affirmed.
The value of the National Press Award is still widely spread throughout all levels of the Association and members with the participation of 17/21 Associations, 29 affiliated Associations, and 59/63 Provincial and Municipal Journalists Associations.
The preliminary selection process at all levels The Association selected 1,970 entries, of which 1,913 works were eligible according to regulations.
The preliminary judging round takes place from April 22, 2025 to May 9, 2025, with the participation of 74 experienced journalists, divided into 12 subcommittees, evaluating and judging 13 types of awards.
On June 3, 2025, the Final Round of 33 members reviewed and judged 183 entries through the preliminary round, selecting 128 outstanding press works to award, including: 13 A Prizes, 27 B Prizes, 49 C Prizes and 39 Encouragement Prizes.
Notably, this is the first year the National Press Award has been entered into two new awards, Multimedia Journalism and Creative Journalism. In general, the works participating in this year's Award have met the selection criteria stated in the Award Council's Selection Guidelines, comprehensively and deeply reflecting political and economic life...
Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi assessed: "The highlight this year is the products of multimedia journalism, creative journalism invested in and developed by press agencies, applying modern journalism technology, developing multi-platform, multimedia journalism but still Standards content, ensuring political, ideological, accuracy, timeliness, positive and strong social impact, increasing attractiveness and increasing public access. The works selected by the Final Round Council are very worthy of being awarded the 19th National Press Award".
The 19th National Press Award and Award Ceremony - 2024 will be held on the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, June 21, 2025, at My Dinh Athletics Palace (Hanoi).
