On the afternoon of January 23, 2025, the 13th Party Central Committee Conference opened in Hanoi.
1. The Party Central Committee works in the Conference Hall. General Secretary To Lam delivers the opening speech at the Conference. The Central Committee carries out a number of contents on personnel work, including:
(1) Agree to let comrade Tran Cam Tu, Politburo member, Standing member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Inspection Commission, cease to hold the position of Head of the Central Inspection Commission to focus on performing the duties of Standing member of the Secretariat.
(2) Elect 3 additional members of the 13th Central Inspection Commission, including comrades: Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office; Nguyen Hong Linh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee; Doan Anh Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Thuan Province. Elect comrade Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Inspection Commission, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office to hold the position of Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission.
(3) Elect additional comrade Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office to hold the position of member of the 13th Politburo; comrade Tran Luu Quang, member of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Economic Commission to hold the position of member of the 13th Secretariat.
(4) Agree to let comrade Duong Van An, member of the Party Central Committee, former Secretary of Vinh Phuc Provincial Party Committee, former Secretary of Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee, cease to hold the position of member of the 13th Party Central Committee.
2. The Party Central Committee worked in groups to discuss the following contents:
(1) Summary report on the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW, dated October 25, 2017 of the 12th Party Central Committee on a number of issues on continuing to innovate and reorganize the political system to be streamlined and operate effectively and efficiently.
(2) Report reviewing the leadership and direction of the Politburo and Secretariat in 2024.
(3) Supplementary project on socio-economic development in 2025 with a growth target of 8% or more.
(4) Project to supplement the 5-year assessment report on the implementation of the 10-year socio-economic development strategy 2021 - 2030, directions and tasks for socio-economic development in the 5-year period 2026 - 2030 with the growth target of the 2026 - 2030 period reaching double digits continuously in each year.
