An Giang - Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan visited and presented gifts to policy families, poor people, workers, and children in difficult circumstances.

On January 31, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and the working delegation of the Presidential Office visited and presented gifts to policy families, poor people, workers, and children in difficult circumstances in An Giang province on the occasion of Binh Ngo spring 2026.

Standing Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong said: In 2025, the province continues to develop positively, many industries and fields have high growth compared to the same period. Economic growth reached 8.39%, ranking first in the Mekong Delta region and 14th/34 provinces and cities nationwide. The province has completed and exceeded 24/26 targets set out by the Provincial People's Council Resolution; of which 11 targets exceeded, 13 targets achieved...

In particular, the province has drastically implemented works and projects to serve the APEC 2027 Conference, with 21 key projects with a total investment capital of up to 119 trillion VND. Up to now, all public investment projects have been urgently accelerated and basically achieved the required progress.

With a thoughtful, timely, and practical spirit, leaving no one behind, An Giang has implemented a support policy for over 97,400 people with meritorious services and their families, with a total budget of over 97.6 billion VND. In addition, the province organized visits and Tet greetings for about 204,000 people and over 1,000 organizations, with a total local budget of over 145 billion VND.

Effectively caring for more than 13,000 policy families and people with meritorious services, including 31 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers (still alive). Along with budget resources, socialization mobilization has been promoted; to date, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) of the province has received over 10,000 gifts for the poor, with a total value of about 5 billion VND, contributing to spreading the spirit of solidarity and mutual affection in the community.

Speaking at the visit and gift-giving ceremony, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan acknowledged and praised the achievements, breakthroughs, and comprehensiveness of An Giang province in implementing political tasks, especially in caring for and comprehensively improving people's lives.

The Vice President requested An Giang province to strongly implement, concretize, and immediately implement the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress; unlock and utilize resources to develop An Giang into a national marine economic center. Strongly invest in cultural, health, and educational development; strengthen national defense and security potential, contributing to firmly protecting the sovereignty of borders, land and islands; successfully organize APEC Year 2027.

On the occasion of the Binh Ngo New Year 2026, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan wished the people of An Giang province good health, happiness and success.

The Vice President also requested An Giang province to continue to pay attention to caring for policy beneficiaries, the poor, people in difficulty, vulnerable, workers, laborers...; ensuring security, safety, and people's safety so that people can celebrate Tet happily, warmly, safely, and economically.

On this occasion, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and the working delegation presented 600 gifts to policy families, poor households, workers in difficult circumstances and supported 200 million VND for children in particularly difficult circumstances of the Vietnam Children's Fund Sponsorship Council.

On the same morning, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and the delegation of the Presidential Office, leaders of An Giang province offered incense at the Temple of Remembrance for Heroes, Martyrs and People with Meritorious Services of the province in Rach Gia ward.
