On the afternoon of July 9, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Hong and the working delegation visited and presented gifts to policy families and people with meritorious services to the Revolution in Thanh Xuan commune, Can Tho city, on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day.

At the visit and gift-giving ceremony, National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hong emphasized that July 27th every year is War Invalids and Martyrs' Day, a symbol of the morality of "drinking water, remembering the source", expressing gratitude to those who sacrificed for national independence. This is an occasion for the whole society to remember and care for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, war invalids and policy families.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly clearly stated that in the context after the merger of administrative units today, the meaning of July 27th becomes even more profound and urgent. Because, levels and sectors must ensure that policies are not broken, when merging administrative boundaries, the management of dossiers and the implementation of regimes and allowances for people with meritorious services must be given special attention.
The Vice Chairman of the National Assembly wished that for uncles, aunts, and uncles who are wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, and people with meritorious services to the revolution, they would continue to promote revolutionary traditions, educate their children and grandchildren to preserve the good qualities of their families, actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, and contribute to building Can Tho City to become increasingly developed.
