General Nguyen Tan Cuong said that each parade and parade needs innovation. In recent times, receiving the attention of the Central leaders, the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense and the help of all levels, sectors, localities and people, the General Staff has performed well its functions, commanding agencies, strategic consultation on military and defense, comprehensively completing all aspects of work, many tasks have been completed excellently.
In particular, the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army has worked with units in the Ministry of National Defense to develop resolutions, conclusions, strategies, and projects on military and defense; closely coordinated with central and local departments, ministries, branches to successfully organize a series of celebrations of major holidays in recent times.
General Nguyen Tan Cuong affirmed that to achieve this result, press agencies have promoted and enhanced the image of the army in general and the General Staff in particular, spreading the good qualities of Uncle Ho's army in the hearts of the people and international friends.
Also at the meeting, Major General Nguyen Ngoc Doan - Chief of Political Affairs, General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army - said that in the past time, the unit has advised the Party and State to successfully organize a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day; the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory; the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.
The Party Committee and the Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army always pay attention to leading and directing affiliated agencies and units to strictly implement the directives and resolutions of the Party and State; circulars and instructions of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense related to the management of press and publishing work.
Every year, there are over 1,200 press works published in mass media about the activities of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and its affiliated agencies and units in newspapers and magazines.
At a press conference in June 2025, General Phan Van Giang - Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense - said that the country is preparing to successfully celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2. This also marks the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army.
Minister Phan Van Giang said that he will invite some countries to participate in the parade, although the number is not large, it will be a mark affirming that Vietnam is a country that is respected and admired by friends around the world.
Minister Phan Van Giang said that for the first time, there will be forces at sea participating in the parade such as the Navy, Coast Guard, and Fisheries Control.
