On the night of November 16, the Central Propaganda Department and Vietnam Television jointly organized a live television program called “Deep Love and Heavy Meaning”. The program took place at 3 locations: Ca Mau, Thanh Hoa and Hai Phong.
Attending the program at Thanh Hoa bridge point were Mr. Le Hoai Trung - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Commission for External Relations; Mr. Vu Thanh Mai - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Mr. Nguyen Doan Anh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee and representatives of the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, departments, agencies, unions and a large number of people of Sam Son City.
Thanh Hoa - Lach Hoi Port bridge (in Quang Tien ward, Sam Son city) is the first place in the North to welcome Southern compatriots and soldiers to the North.
70 years ago, this place welcomed thousands of wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, cadres, students and families to the North many times. Lach Hoi Port became a place that holds many memories of the exciting days of studying and working of children from the South.
The special art performances at Thanh Hoa bridge recreated the scene of welcoming the Southern compatriots to the North. With a duration of more than 90 minutes, the art program taking place at 3 bridges deeply and vividly recreated a heroic historical period of the nation, contributing to the victory of the Resistance War against America.
In just 9 months (from September 1954 to May 1955), Thanh Hoa province organized to welcome 47,346 cadres, soldiers, 1,869 wounded soldiers, 5,922 students and 1,443 families of cadres from the South; it was the locality that welcomed the largest number of compatriots, cadres, soldiers and students from the South in the whole country.
