On March 20, in Hanoi, the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association in the People's Public Security (CAND) held its first Congress of Delegates for the 2025 - 2030 term.
According to the Ministry of Public Security's Electronic Information Portal, speaking at the congress, Minister Luong Tam Quang highly appreciated the organization of the first Congress of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association in the People's Public Security for the 2025 - 2030 term for its important significance, contributing to consolidating and deepening the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
The cause of innovation, openness, and international integration that the people of the two countries are conducting has created new momentum, while setting up objective requirements to strengthen the special relationship between Vietnam - Laos; Laos - Vietnam with new forms and contents.
To operate effectively, comprehensively and substantially in the 2025 - 2030 term, Minister Luong Tam Quang suggested that the Executive Committee of the Association study and implement a number of key work contents.
Accordingly, the Association needs to continue to thoroughly grasp and grasp the foreign policy guidelines and high-level agreements of the two Parties and the two States of Vietnam and Laos; maintain and promote effective coordination with the Central Committee of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association and affiliated Associations and relevant departments, ministries and branches to build and implement diverse and practical activities.
Strengthen the integration of activities of the Central Association in cooperation programs/ plans between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Public Security of Laos.
At the same time, the Association needs to continue to develop the Association organization at the ministerial and local levels; in the immediate future, urgently deploy the organization of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association in the People's Public Security in localities bordering Laos. Strengthen and enhance the relationship and information sharing between the Association and the affiliated lower-level Association.
In addition, it is necessary to study and closely coordinate with the Lao Ministry of Public Security in studying and coordinating the organization of events to celebrate major holidays of the two countries.
Thereby, helping people as well as the younger generation of the People's Public Security Forces of the two countries to deeply and accurately understand the nature of the special relationship between Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam.
Within the framework of the Congress, the Congress summarized the activities of the Association and the Provisional Executive Committee of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association in the People's Public Security since the Association's launching ceremony on October 10, 2018; determined the direction, goals, tasks, and solutions for the 2025 - 2030 term.
The Congress also discussed, voted and approved the Charter of Activities of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association in the People's Public Security for the 2025 - 2030 term; elected the Executive Committee of the Association for the 2025 - 2030 term, consisting of 15 personnel, the Standing Committee of 5 personnel.
Deputy Minister of Public Security Le Quoc Hung was elected as Chairman of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association in the People's Public Security for the 2025 - 2030 term.
