After more than 9 hours of flight, at 10:25 a.m. local time (10:20 a.m. Hanoi time), on June 5, the plane carrying Politburo member, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife Le Thi Bich Tran and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation arrived in the capital Tallinn, starting an official visit to the Republic of Estonia from June 5 to 7, at the invitation of Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal.
The Republic of Estonia is the first leg of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's working trip to 3 European countries including Estonia, France, and Sweden.
With the red carpet stretched down to the foot of the plane stairs and two solemn rows of soldiers, welcoming Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife along with the Vietnamese delegation at Lennart Meri tallinn airport were Estonian Ambassador to Beijing and Vietnamese Ambassador Hannes Hanso; Deputy Director of the Estonian New Year's Eve Office Sven Tolp; Vietnamese Ambassador to Finland and Estonia Pham Thi Thanh Binh and officials of the Finnish Embassy in Vietnam.
This is the first visit of the Vietnamese Prime Minister to Estonia since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1992, aiming to promote the friendship and cooperation in many aspects between Vietnam and Estonia to a new stage of development; affirming Vietnam's consistent policy of always attaching importance to and wishing to strengthen and promote relations with countries in the European region, including Estonia.
During the visit, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh is expected to hold talks and meetings with senior Estonian leaders, attend the Vietnam - Estonia business forum, and visit a number of Estonian socio-economic and cultural institutions.
The visit is expected to open up new cooperation opportunities between the two countries, especially in the fields of information technology, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, financial technology, digital economy, cyber security, smart logistics, license plate port, e-government development, etc.
