On July 28, at the Bac Bo Palace, General Secretary and President To Lam received Cambodian National Assembly Chairman Khuon Sudary on the occasion of the high-level delegation of the Cambodian National Assembly's official visit to Vietnam.
National Assembly Chairman Khuon Sudary affirmed that Cambodia values the development of friendly and comprehensive cooperation relations with Vietnam; considers Vietnam's success as Cambodia's success; emphasized that the tradition of Vietnam-Cambodia solidarity is the crystallization of the bond between the two nations, tempered in hardship and increasingly solid in the face of all challenges, although the world situation has changed, the relations between the two countries have not changed; preserving and promoting the tradition of friendship between the two countries is a responsibility to history, a commitment to the future and needs to be passed on to future generations of the two countries to correctly understand, inherit and follow in the footsteps.
Chairman Khuon Sudary shared that the Cambodian National Assembly is closely coordinating with the Vietnamese National Assembly to actively implement high-level commitments and agreements between the two countries; emphasizing the spirit and results of the High-Level Meeting between the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the CPP Standing Committee (February 2, 2026) as a guiding principle for the close relationship between the two Parties, the two countries, especially the two countries will jointly strengthen comprehensive connection, preserve and nurture Vietnam-Cambodia relations to develop stably and sustainably.
General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed that Vietnam always supports Cambodia's peaceful, stable and prosperous development; emphasized that the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries Vietnam - Cambodia is a priceless common asset, and it is necessary to continue to elevate the relationship between the Party, National Assembly, and Government channels to orient ministries, branches, and localities of the two countries to strengthen cooperation and help each other develop together.
General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his pleasure at the extensive development of the relationship between the two countries, especially the relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the CPP with political trust as the foundation.
Highly appreciating the results of the talks between Chairman Khuon Sudary and Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, General Secretary, President To Lam requested the two National Assemblies to actively promote cooperation programs and projects between the two countries, coordinate research and promulgate policies to facilitate the increasingly substantive and effective relations between the two countries.
The two sides emphasized the strategic significance of the relationship between the two Parties, the two countries and between the three Parties, the three countries Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos in the new situation, especially political trust, close cooperation in defense and security, economic cohesion and understanding, and attachment between people; and at the same time emphasized the role of the Party in strategic orientation for the overall bilateral and trilateral relations, closely directing the Government, ministries and sectors to concretize the achieved results; promoting the effectiveness of cooperation mechanisms, especially the mechanism of meetings between 3 Prime Ministers, 3 National Assembly Chairmen, 3 Ministers of National Defense, 3 Ministers of Public Security/Home Affairs, 3 Ministers of Foreign Affairs...
