The General Secretary and President expressed his belief that the young generation of Vietnamese people in Thailand will become a bridge to promote relations between the two countries.

On the afternoon of May 27, in Udon Thani (Thailand), General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife, along with a high-level Vietnamese delegation, met with officials and staff of the Embassy and Consulate General of Vietnam and nearly 600 overseas Vietnamese living, studying and working in Thailand and representatives of overseas Vietnamese from Laos.

Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary and President To Lam said that during this visit, he will exchange views with senior leaders of Thailand on future cooperation orientations; affirming that in that process, the Vietnamese community in Thailand is always an important bridge, contributing to tightening the friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

For the Vietnamese community in Thailand, the General Secretary and President acknowledged that with patriotism, steadfast will and diligence, the Vietnamese community has stabilized their lives, integrated well, made positive contributions to society in the host country, and at the same time always maintained cultural identity, Vietnamese language, Vietnamese customs and looked towards their homeland.

The enthusiasm of the people in preserving and developing the President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Area, Vietnamese Street, relic sites, and cultural works of the community in Udon Thani is a vivid proof of the sustainable vitality of Vietnamese culture, national pride and deep feelings of the Vietnamese community for the Fatherland.

The General Secretary and President placed his trust in the young generation of Vietnamese people in Thailand who have valuable advantages when growing up in an integrated environment, understand Thai culture, and at the same time have Vietnamese roots, will study well, strictly comply with local laws, work professionally, keep Vietnamese, understand national history and become young, dynamic bridges contributing to promoting cooperative relations between the two countries.

Sincerely thanking the State, government and people of Thailand for their concern, friendly feelings and valuable support for the Vietnamese community over the decades, the General Secretary and President expressed that the sharing, tolerance and favorable environment have helped our people stabilize their lives, integrate, develop, preserve national cultural identity and continue to be a solid bridge of friendship between Vietnam and Thailand.

The General Secretary and President acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and great contributions of the Vietnamese General Association in Thailand in building, connecting and developing the community, being a solid pillar of the community, a bridge with the homeland and a positive factor in fostering Vietnam-Thailand friendship.

The General Secretary and President hoped that the Vietnamese community in Thailand would continue to unite, be stable, develop strongly, integrate well, make positive contributions to the local society, preserve national cultural identity, look towards their homeland and deepen the Vietnam-Thailand friendship.

The General Secretary and President said that at today's meeting, the recommendations of the people will be summarized, directing relevant agencies to study and soon have appropriate solutions to implement.
