According to VNA, during the phone call, the two leaders expressed their pleasure at holding a high-level phone call to exchange opinions on promoting the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and issues of mutual concern.
President Yoon Suk Yeol expressed his deep condolences over the passing of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and expressed his belief that the Party and State of Vietnam , headed by General Secretary and President To Lam, will continue to achieve great achievements and further enhance its international position and prestige.
The President of South Korea affirmed that he values Vietnam's role in implementing South Korea's policies in the region.
General Secretary and President To Lam thanked the President of the Republic of Korea for sending condolences, and Prime Minister Han Duck Soo attended the State funeral of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

General Secretary and President To Lam congratulated the achievements that the Republic of Korea has made in recent times, including economic recovery and strengthening of the supply chain; highly appreciated the rapid development of the Vietnam-RoK relationship in most areas over the past 32 years, especially after the two sides upgraded their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership; and emphasized that the Party and State of Vietnam always attach importance to the friendly and cooperative relationship with the Republic of Korea.
The two leaders agreed to further enhance mutual understanding and political trust through maintaining high-level contacts and exchanges and through Party, Government, National Assembly and people-to-people channels between the two countries; strengthening cooperation in the fields of defense and security; and promoting economic, trade and investment cooperation to be increasingly substantive, effective, balanced and sustainable.
The two sides agreed to work together to increase bilateral trade turnover to 150 billion USD by 2030.
General Secretary and President To Lam welcomed Korean enterprises to participate in major investment projects in Vietnam. The Korean President emphasized that Korea will increase imports of Vietnamese agricultural products.
The two sides agreed to promote cooperation in labor, culture, tourism, education, and people-to-people exchange; and care for and support citizens of the two countries living, studying, and working in each country.
The two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation on regional and international issues.
General Secretary and President To Lam affirmed that Vietnam is always interested in and ready to actively contribute to the peace process on the Korean peninsula.
Regarding the East Sea issue, the two sides agreed on the necessity of maintaining peace, stability, cooperation, development, and respect for international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
The President of the Republic of Korea respectfully invited General Secretary and President To Lam to visit the Republic of Korea soon.
