On December 18, in Hanoi, the solemn session of the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union (VYU) for the 2024-2029 term was held with the participation of 980 delegates. The congress has the theme: "Vietnamese Youth: Patriotism - Aspiration - Solidarity - Pioneering - Creativity - Confidence in entering the new era".
At the solemn session, the Congress introduced the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, term IX, 2024 - 2029, with 135 personnel.
The Congress announced the results of the 1st Conference of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, term IX, 2024 - 2029 (held on the afternoon of December 17).
The conference consulted and elected the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Union; and elected Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Union, Permanent Deputy Chairman of the National Committee on Vietnamese Youth, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, 8th term - as President of the Vietnam Youth Union, 9th term, 2024 - 2029 term.
Speaking on accepting the assignment, Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam said that this is both an honor and a great responsibility and promised to devote all his efforts to building a strong, united and creative collective so that the Vietnam Youth Union and Vietnamese youth can continue to have many new developments.
Mr. Lam also hopes to continue receiving the attention and guidance of leaders, support and companionship from youth across the country to jointly realize the great dreams and aspirations of Vietnamese youth in the new era.
Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam was born in 1984, Kinh ethnic group, hometown Truong Yen commune, Hoa Lu district, Ninh Binh province. Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam is a PhD in construction; high level of political theory.
