On December 17, after the opening session, 980 delegates of the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union continued to divide into 6 discussion groups right at the National Convention Center.
At discussion group No. 2, 165 delegates gave their opinions and contributed to the contents of the documents of the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union, term 2024 - 2029.
Discussion group number 2 with the topic "Vietnamese youth participate in preserving and promoting national cultural identity".
Assessing the importance of preserving national cultural identity and building a generation of Vietnamese youth in the renovation period, delegate Ha Thi Minh Chau - Hai Phong City Delegation - said that cultural revival is to make the good cultural values of the nation and people be promoted and developed more strongly.
Cultural revival must always start from the central factor of people, with the emphasis on the young generation. This is not only a task but also a sacred responsibility of every young person.
"Each young person is a cultural ambassador in the journey of cultural revival in the current digital age. These ambassadors are using beauty to eliminate ugliness every day, preserving and promoting the national cultural identity" - delegate Chau expressed his opinion.
Delegate Ha Thi Minh Chau also affirmed that with the strong development of digital technology, Vietnamese youth do not forget the task of preserving, protecting and reviving national culture.
Delegate Nguyen Kieu Tuan Viet - Delegation of Phu Tho province - said that young people are the force that quickly accesses information technology. Therefore, each young person can become an ambassador to promote the cultural identity of their homeland, turning cultural identity into a strength for economic development and tourism development.
The theme "Youth participate in preserving and promoting national cultural identity" is a new content introduced by the 9th Congress of the Youth Union into the movement "I love my Fatherland".
Delegate Ha Cong Dat - Chairman of the Youth Union of Mai Chau District (Hoa Binh) - said that in previous years, his locality had 2 communes that were drug hotspots. However, when promoting the national cultural identity to develop tourism, these localities became bright spots in both economic development and maintaining security and order.
To achieve this, it is necessary to propagate to young people to correctly perceive the cultural identity of their nation, from which they will turn identity into strength.
The opinions of other delegates in the discussion group were also given, contributing to a clearer orientation of the role of youth in linking traditional cultural values with modernity.
The 9th Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union will take place over 3 days, December 16, 17 and 18, at the National Convention Center. The solemn session of the congress will take place on the morning of December 18.
