December 26, 2025 marks the 29th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development Trade Union (December 26, 1996 – December 26, 2025).

This is a milestone of particularly important significance, recognizing the nearly three decades of construction, growth and development of Agribank Trade Union - a large socio-political organization, always steadfast in the goal of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and employees; and at the same time being a force accompanying responsibility, trusting and professional in performing political tasks, contributing to the sustainable development of Agribank.

Leadership and direction throughout – the foundation for maturity and development

Over the past 29 years, the close leadership and direction of the Agribank Party Committee; the close attention, close coordination, and responsibility accompaniment of the Member Council and the Agribank Executive Board; along with the enthusiasm and wisdom of generations of Trade Union leaders and professional leaders through various periods have created a solid foundation and played a decisive role, ensuring that Agribank Trade Union effectively performs its assigned functions and tasks.

The major policies of the Party, the laws and policies of the State, and development orientations of the Banking sector and Agribank are always thoroughly grasped in a timely and unified manner; thereby creating a solid political basis for Agribank Trade Union to concretize into action programs, emulation movements and practical activities, suitable to the characteristics of a state-owned commercial bank playing a key role in the "Tam Nong" field.

29 years of steadfastly pursuing the mission of caring for and protecting the rights of workers

Right from the early days of establishment, Agribank Trade Union clearly defined its consistent mission as representing, caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and employees. Going through each stage of development with many difficulties and challenges, especially in the context of restructuring the banking system and deep international integration, Agribank Trade Union organization always closely follows reality, innovates content and operating methods, and strongly focuses on the grassroots level.

The work of participating in policy making; collective dialogue and negotiation; caring for material and spiritual life; implementing welfare and social security; supporting union members and workers facing difficulties... is deployed synchronously, increasingly going deeper. In particular, in difficult periods due to natural disasters, epidemics, and economic fluctuations, Agribank Trade Union has clearly shown its role as a "reliable support" for workers, accompanying professionalism to stabilize ideology, consolidate trust, maintain internal solidarity, and contribute to completing the political tasks of the entire system.

Emulation movement – an important driving force for development

Throughout 29 years, patriotic emulation movements launched by Agribank Trade Union and coordinated with professional organizations have always closely followed the political tasks and practical requirements of each stage. Movements such as "Good workers, creative workers", "Good at banking, good at housework", "Green - clean - beautiful, ensuring labor safety and hygiene", "Innovation, creativity, efficiency in work"... have truly become an important driving force, arousing the spirit of responsibility, creativity, and dedication of cadres, union members, and workers.

Through emulation movements, many typical collectives and individuals have been discovered, fostered, and honored; contributing to building and spreading Agribank culture with core values of discipline, responsibility, humanity and community service spirit.

Building a strong Trade Union organization, adapting to new requirements

In parallel with the work of caring for and protecting employees, Agribank Trade Union always focuses on building a strong organization; improving the quality of trade union officials at all levels; innovating operating methods in a professional and effective direction, suitable to the requirements of digital transformation and modern governance.

The work of training and fostering trade union officials; applying information technology; innovating content and methods of propaganda; strengthening coordination between the Trade Union and professional and socio-political organizations in the system is increasingly concerned and invested in, creating a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the Trade Union organization in the new period.

The 29th anniversary of establishment is an opportunity for Agribank Trade Union to respectfully express gratitude for the dedicated and persistent contributions of generations of trade union officials, union members, and workers throughout the system - those who laid the foundation and nurtured the tradition of solidarity, responsibility, and affection, creating the unique identity of Agribank Trade Union today. This is also an opportunity for each trade union official, union member, and employee to look back on the past journey with pride and respect for previous generations, thereby adding more determination, new spirit, and continuing to accompany the sustainable development of Agribank - for workers, for the banking industry, for the community and society.
