In Hanoi, on June 24, 2025, Vietnam Clean Energy Magazine coordinated with relevant units to organize the Forum "Realizing Vietnam's Hydrogen Economy from vision to action". The program is accompanied by Vietnam Gas Corporation - JSC (PV GAS).

hydrogen energy - a new pillar for energy transition

Speaking at the opening of the forum, Dr. Mai Duy Thien - Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Clean Energy Magazine - emphasized:

In the context of the world facing serious challenges from climate change, resource depletion and the need for sustainable energy transition. Along with solutions for sustainable energy conversion solutions such as: developing renewable energy sources, using energy economically and efficiently and developing clean energy sources, new energy without carbon emissions such as Green Hydro and blue Hydro products - Green Hydrogen - have emerged as a global strategic solution. This is an extremely important solution in the energy conversion roadmap due to its superior characteristics of carbon not emitting throughout the product life cycle, whether it is raw material for the electricity production industry, transportation industry or input of other industrial manufacturing industries. Hydrogen is not only the future of the energy industry but also the key to sustainable development and net zero emissions.

Results of implementing the hydrogen energy strategy

On February 7, 2024, the Prime Minister issued Decision 165/QD-TTg approving Vietnam's hydrogen Energy Development Strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2050.

After more than a year of implementation, the hydrogen Energy Strategy has attracted the attention of many domestic and foreign investors with proposals, research and project preparation in Vietnam. Although most of the projects are new to the preparation stage, it has shown positive signals in realizing strategic goals.

The production capacity of hydrogen from renewable energy and carbon- recovery processes is approaching the target of 100500 thousand tons/year by 2030. Ministries, branches and localities are actively implementing mechanisms, policies, developing science and technology, human resources, international cooperation and promoting investment to promote the application of hydrogen in energy production and conversion.

Promoting cooperation - Spreading action

The program brought in-depth presentations from domestic and international leading experts, updated international experiences from Korea, Germany, Japan... and an open seminar on challenges - opportunities - solutions for the development of Hydrogen and its export products in Vietnam. In particular, demonstration projects, public-private partnership models and policies for developing the domestic green hydrogen consumption market will be key topics discussed.

The forum will not only stop at theoretical sharing, but will become a boost to spread inspiration, open up connections and lay the foundation for substantive cooperation between the parties to jointly build a strong Hydrogen ecosystem in Vietnam - ready for regional and global integration.

The forum "Realizing Vietnam's Hydrogen economy from vision to action" is an open dialogue platform, where the voices of policymakers, experts, investors, international organizations and pioneering enterprises converge to share experiences, update trends, remove barriers, and together create a specific action roadmap for the development of the Hydrogen economy in Vietnam.
