The conference assessed the results of production and business tasks, construction investment in July and the first 7 months of 2026, noting that EVNGENCO1 has overcome the peak dry season; and at the same time proposed key tasks and solutions to proactively respond to the rainy and storm season, improve operational efficiency and be determined to complete the production and business goals for 2026.
Overcoming the peak dry season, continuing to ensure power supply
Assessing the results of task implementation in the first 7 months of 2026 shows that EVNGENCO1 deploys production and business tasks in the context that the national power system continues to record high load demand, while hydrological conditions at many reservoirs are not favorable and the requirements for operating the power system are increasingly strict. With synchronous solutions on technical management, production operation, fuel assurance and equipment repair and maintenance, the Corporation has contributed to Vietnam Electricity Group to ensure safe and stable power supply for socio-economic development.

In July 2026 alone, EVNGENCO1 produced 2.61 billion kWh of electricity. Accumulated in the first 7 months of the year, the Corporation produced 22.35 billion kWh of electricity, basically completing the 7-month plan and increasing by 7.2% compared to the same period in 2025. Thermal and hydropower plants basically meet the mobilization requirements of the national power system; coal supply is ensured with inventory at thermal power plants maintained above the minimum level according to regulations, creating favorable conditions for operation in the following months.
In parallel with the task of electricity production, EVNGENCO1 continues to deploy investment and construction work, focusing on removing difficulties and obstacles to accelerate the progress of key projects, especially projects to upgrade and renovate exhaust gas treatment systems at thermal power plants. At the same time, EVNGENCO1 Corporation continues to deploy investment preparation tasks for new power source projects according to EVN's policy such as floating solar power on hydropower reservoirs, research on Ham Thuan energy-intensive hydropower and energy storage system (BESS).
Science and technology activities, innovation and digital transformation continue to be promoted with many positive results. In the first 7 months of the year, EVNGENCO1 had 4 initiatives recognized by EVN; at the same time, focusing on completing the management mechanism of science and technology activities, deploying ERP system upgrades, training, technology transfer and preparing platforms to serve digital transformation, gradually improving management efficiency and production operation.
Proactively responding to the rainy and storm season
Entering the last months of the year, EVNGENCO1 identifies the key task as proactively and synchronously deploying solutions to respond to the rainy and storm season, ensuring absolute safety for power plants, reservoirs and power projects, ready to meet the mobilization requirements of the national power system.
Accordingly, units are required to closely monitor weather developments and hydrological conditions; proactively develop reservoir operation scenarios, ensuring harmony of water storage, power generation, downstream water supply and disaster prevention and control goals. At the same time, continue to complete repair and maintenance plans according to schedule; improve the availability and response coefficient of units; strengthen inspection and assessment of the reliability of equipment systems, especially self-use and control power systems, minimizing incidents due to subjective causes.
For thermal power plants, the Corporation requests to continue to strictly control the quality of input coal, improve fuel efficiency, improve economic and technical indicators, especially heat consumption rate and self-use rate of electricity. Hydropower units proactively monitor hydrological developments, review reservoir operation procedures, ensure project safety, downstream safety and be ready to meet the mobilization requirements of the national power system during the rainy and storm season.
Determined to complete the goals by the end of 2026

Speaking to direct at the Conference, Chairman of the Member Council Nguyen Tien Khoa acknowledged and praised the efforts of the collective of EVNGENCO1 officials and employees in ensuring safe and stable operation of the power system. The Chairman of the Member Council requested units to continue to review and comprehensively assess the results of implementing production and business and economic - technical targets; focus on overcoming shortcomings, improving operational efficiency, promoting the capacity of technical staff, and at the same time accelerating the progress of key investment projects, especially projects to upgrade and renovate exhaust gas treatment systems and new power source projects, creating a foundation for completing production and business goals in 2026.
Concluding the Conference, General Director Le Hai Dang requested units to focus on synchronously implementing key tasks in the last months of the year. First of all, continue to absolutely ensure labor safety, strengthen operating discipline and prevent incidents due to subjective causes. At the same time, proactively ensure fuel sources for electricity production; early deploy the preparation and negotiation of coal supply in 2027; maintain reasonable inventory, meeting operating requirements associated with financial efficiency.
