Dung Quat Oil Refinery operates shuttle buses for workers

Linh Đan |

From December 2, 2024, the bus route from Dung Quat Oil Refinery - Tam Ky city (Quang Nam province) and vice versa will be put into operation to serve BSR workers.

Pick-up time is from Monday to Friday every week (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and Tet holidays that employees are entitled to take off work according to the law). Departure from Tam Ky bus station at 5:45 am and from Dung Quat Oil Refinery (NMLD) at 4:45 pm.

Shuttle buses for BSR employees on the Tam Ky - Dung Quat Oil Refinery route and vice versa travel on National Highway 1A in Tam Ky city.

In the first week of operation, the Vehicle Team - Office will flexibly pick up points according to the coordination of the CBCNV focal point proposed by the workers (NLD) traveling on the Tam Ky - Factory - Tam Ky route. From December 9, 2024, the vehicle will only stop to pick up and drop off at the following locations: Tam Ky Bus Station - Tam Ky Station - Tam Ky Roundabout - Bac Nui Thanh Gas Station - Nui Thanh Station - Dung Quat Refinery.

As a staff member using the bus service, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao An - BSR Production Coordination Department confided: "Previously, my husband and I both worked at Dung Quat Refinery, so the daily commute from Tam Ky to the Factory and vice versa was costly.

Now that we have a company-provided vehicle, we are happy and realize that it will save costs for employees as well as ensure health and traffic safety."

It is known that many years ago, employees in Nui Thanh area, Tam Ky city had to drive their own cars or rent cars to go to work. Thus, BSR employees would have to bear many risks such as having to pay monthly car rental fees, using the same car service as employees of other companies, so the travel process took a lot of time.

Sometimes, drivers hire themselves to miss the pick-up/drop-off point; or drivers use their phones while driving, endangering passengers. Therefore, putting into use the Tam Ky - Dung Quat Refinery route to serve BSR workers will solve all these problems, ensuring the safety of life and health of BSR workers.

The bus route coming into operation will help BSR employees feel secure in their work.

Mr. Bui Ta Vu - Deputy Chief of Office in charge, Vice Chairman of BSR's Trade Union - said: "Putting the Tam Ky - Dung Quat Refinery and vice versa bus route into operation is the care of the Company's Board of Directors and BSR's Trade Union for workers with the goal of having the best conditions for travel and rest.

The bus also meets the expectations of employees living in Nui Thanh district, Tam Ky city for safer means of transportation and cost savings.

According to Mr. Vu, the Executive Board of the grassroots Trade Union and the Office continuously listen to the opinions of BSR employees and make the highest efforts to meet the legitimate requests of BSR employees so that employees can work with peace of mind, operate Dung Quat Refinery safely, stably, and at optimal capacity.
