under the parent company Siemens AG (Germany), Siemens Mobility is not only a leading railway technology company in the world with more than 175 years of experience but also a supplier of original technology, laying the foundation for many of the most modern high-speed railway systems in the world such as the US, Russia, China... Now, the "giant" has arrived in Hanoi, together with VinSpeed, contributing to changing the face of transportation in Vietnam
technology is ahead of the times to conquer Europe, Russia, and the US
When mentioning Siemens Mobility, it is a mention of the "super-huge" miracles in the field of high-speed railways. Siemens Mobility is one of the manufacturers participating in research and manufacturing the InterCity Express (ICE) high-speed train line - the pride of Germany. Currently, the company has a revenue of 12.4 billion euros and has about 43,400 employees worldwide.
According to the agreement with VinSpeed, Siemens Mobility will bring to Vietnam Velaro Novo - the latest and most modern high-speed train product line and also the means of use in the high-speed network in many developed countries such as Belgium, France, the UK, the Netherlands, China, Russia, and Turkey.
The appearance of Velaro with leading technologies has brought changes to many cities around the world.
Velaro Novo is being tested in Germany in the German company's ICE-S train, integrating hundreds of sensors to collect real-time data, creating a basis for optimizing operations and maintenance according to real-life conditions. The train is designed with a design speed of up to more than 350 km/h, helping to increase connectivity between major cities, expand the labor market and promote economic development along new traffic corridors.
In the US, Siemens Mobility contributes to realizing the US high-speed rail vision with the American Pioneer 220, the US version of Velaro Novo. This is also the latest technology that Siemens Mobility will provide to VinSpeed.
In addition to speed, the American Pioneer 220 is positioned as an economic and sustainable solution for US high-speed railways. Thanks to a reduction of about 15% in volume compared to previous generations, equivalent to more than 70 tons, along with advanced chariot manufacturing and welding technologies, the train line helps reduce about 20% of investment costs and up to 30% of maintenance costs.
The Russian Railway (RZD) has deployed 8 Velaro RUS trains to Siemens, and then bought 8 more in 2011 to serve the Moscow - St. Petersburg expressway. Petersburg. Since 2009, Siemens-developed bullet trains have connected Moscow with Saint Petersburg and Nizhny Novgorod, operating well in extreme climate conditions from minus 40 to 40 degrees Celsius, shortening the Moscow Saint Petersburg journey by about an hour compared to previous trains.
In Spain, in 2001-2005, Renfe (the Spanish railway operator) ordered a total of 26 Velaro E trains from Siemens. This is a Velaro version designed specifically for Spain - also the fastest train in Europe at that time, with a speed of 350 km/h. Thanks to the new system, the Madrid - Barcelona high-speed train route (621 km long) has shortened travel time between the two largest cities in Spain to less than 2.5 hours, causing the number of passengers in air transport to drop significantly. In addition, using the Velaro E ship can save 88% of CO2 emissions compared to traveling by air, equivalent to saving about 29,000 tons of CO2 per year.
Behind the historic handshake of Siemenes and VinSpeed
From Europe, Russia to the US, Siemenes Mobility has laid the foundation for many high-speed railway systems in the world.
However, Siemenes Mobility's cooperation with VinSpeed - a completely new name in Vietnam has surprised many people in the industry. Even the fact that Mr. Michael Peter, General Director of Siemens Mobility GmbH, personally flew to the site to sign under the witness of Ms. Helga Margarete Barth, German Ambassador to Vietnam - shows that Siemens and the German Government highly value this cooperation.
In particular, the two sides signed a strategic cooperation agreement, not simply providing vehicles. This is an agreement that, according to Mr. Michael Peter, General Director of Siemens Mobility GmbH, is "comprehensive", including the provision of modern railway infrastructure and advanced trains, to create the highest standard for the Vietnamese high-speed railway system.
With VinSpeed, we hope to make Vietnam a pioneer in the field of high-speed railways, said Mr. Michael Peter at the signing ceremony.
The choice of VinSpeed - a partner with great support from Vingroup Corporation - one of the leading private economic groups in ASEAN is actually one of the strategic steps of Siemens Mobility in promoting development in Asia. Because only when cooperating with strong partners, capable of rapid and accurate implementation, can Siemens Mobility's famous technology have "power" and maximize efficiency.
We have the right to expect a " mobility revolution" for millions of people on the Hanoi - Quang Ninh and Ben Thanh - Can Gio transport routes. This is also a turning point that laid the foundation for high-speed railway technology in Vietnam, bringing new growth momentum, promoting economic development and tourism nationwide./.
