Compared to the same time last month, gold prices have decreased by about 6.8 - 7.3 million VND/tael in both directions.
At gold and silver business stores on Cau Giay and Tran Duy Hung streets (Hanoi), the number of people coming to buy is kept at an average level. According to information released from stores on Cau Giay street, the amount of plain round gold rings bought and sold today is unlimited. The store opens for sale plain round gold rings from 0.5 chi and returns gold directly.
As one of the few customers waiting to buy this morning at the store, Ms. Dao Minh Khanh (Lang ward, Hanoi) shared: "When I arrived at the newly opened store, the number of buyers was sparse. If buying in cash, customers were instructed to go to the counter inside to transact. If I buy more than 1 tael of plain round gold rings, I will take the invoice from the automatic transaction machine and then go inside to complete the procedures.
According to Ms. Khanh, the number of people buying in is not as overwhelming as in previous days, this morning at the store, most people are selling out.
Standing in line waiting for her turn to sell, Ms. Vu Minh Hanh (Nghia Do ward, Hanoi) said: "I am one of the last people in line, receiving a ticket numbered 37. I will sell about 3 taels of gold at a slight increase. There is something I need to use, so today the price increased, I went to sell, but I need to sell as much as I need.
Ms. Hanh added that the waiting time for transactions does not take much time: "I am after about 10 people, including those who are buying, so I am not too worried. Gold prices are increasing, so people tend to sell. In the previous days, bringing products out can sell immediately".
Gold price update
As of 11:20 am on May 25, SJC gold bar prices were listed at the level of 159 - 162 million VND/tael (buying - selling), an increase of 500,000 VND/tael compared to the closing session yesterday.
Bao Tin Minh Chau listed SJC gold bar prices at the threshold of 159 - 162 million VND/tael (buying - selling), simultaneously increasing by 500,000 VND/tael.
At the same time as the survey, the price of SJC plain round gold rings tended to increase, listed at 158.5 - 161.5 million VND/tael (buying - selling).
Bao Tin Minh Chau listed the price of gold rings equal to the price of gold bars, currently at the threshold of 159 - 162 million VND/tael (buying - selling).
On the world market, as of 11:20 am on May 25 (Vietnam time), world gold prices had an upward correction, listed around 4,560.2 USD/ounce, up 53 USD.
