Gold price forecast
SJC gold bar prices recovered by 600,000 VND/tael in the trading session on September 23, with the selling price listed by large enterprises at 145.5 million VND/tael. This development reversed the deep decline of the previous session and went against the international market.
Although it has recovered about 1 million VND from the nearest bottom, the price of gold bars is still about 5 million VND lower than the peak of nearly 151 million VND/tael recorded last month.
Along with the buying and selling spread maintained at 3 million VND, investors buying in the peak area currently recorded a loss of about 8 million VND per tael.
Gold prices fell as traders monitored the progress of negotiations between the US and Iran as well as comments from Federal Reserve officials to find clues about how energy costs will affect the future interest rate roadmap. Gold bars are trading around 4,305 USD/ounce, erasing a slight increase from the previous session. Some Fed policymakers have spoken out, except for the inflation outlook since the central bank voted to raise interest rates last week for the first time in three years.
Richmond Fed Chairman Tom Barkin warned that it may take time for inflation shocks to subside and there is a risk that increased pressure may become ingrained.
Investors are also watching the renewed focus on diplomatic efforts to end the US-Iran war. President Donald Trump said US officials had a successful meeting with Iranian envoys in New York, reviving a faint hope for a new diplomatic path.
