The pain has not stopped...
In Su village, Tu Ky commune, Hai Phong city, there is a small family struggling with illness and accumulated difficulties every day. The tragedy not only befell one person, but also weighed heavily on the two mothers and children, making life, which was already difficult, even more exhausted.
Ms. Tran Thi Net (born in 1962) started her dialysis journey in 2021. Since then, regularly 3 times a week, she has to go to Tan Kim Hospital - more than 20km from home for life-keeping treatment. However, kidney failure is not the only disease she has to endure.
She also suffers from stomach disease, liver failure, severe osteoarthritis and spinal slippage, making walking almost impossible, all activities require support. In recent days, her health has declined, she is mainly lying in one place.
The pain did not stop there when her son, Mr. Dang Van Luan (born in 1991), also suffered from severe kidney failure and had to have dialysis for 2 years now. Every week, the two mothers and sons go to the hospital together 3 times, quietly entering the battle for life.

The family has three adults, and all three are in poor health. Her husband, Mr. Dang Van Tham (born in 1963), works as a construction worker, his job is precarious. When he was still strong, he went to work with a dirty face, his hair was already gray, but the income was not much. Now old and weak, he cannot take on heavy jobs to take care of the family.
Their two daughters, one has married far away, in difficult circumstances; the other also has to take care of their own lives, unable to provide much support. The burden therefore falls entirely on the tired shoulders of the father and husband.
Without a stable source of income, while the cost of dialysis for two people each week is not a small number, not to mention the cost of medicine and daily living. In particular, the cost of traveling by taxi from home to the hospital continuously becomes a great pressure for the family.

Soothing hardship
As evening fell on the village of Su village, after a hard working day, many neighbors took the opportunity to visit Mrs. Tran Thi Net's family. In the small, simple house, the yellow light shone on the haggard face of the woman who had been attached to illness for many years.
Lying on the hospital bed, Mrs. Net almost lost control of daily activities, everything had to be supported by her husband and son. Her voice was slow and intermittent: "Now I just hope that every week that passes, the two mothers and daughters still have enough strength to go to the hospital for dialysis together. Many times I feel weakened day by day without knowing what will happen...".
Outside in the yard, the sound of neighbors asking and encouraging each other echoed. Some brought a little gift from their hometown, others only had time to stop for a few conversations and then hurriedly returned after a day of work. That simple sharing partly soothes the hardship that is weighing on the small family.
But behind the greetings is the harsh reality: two mothers and daughters undergoing dialysis together, prolonged illness, economic exhaustion, everything is just trying to hold on day by day amidst the hospital vortex and worries about costs.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Khiem - Head of Su village, Ms. Net's family is in particularly difficult circumstances in the village. Both mother and child suffer from dangerous diseases, have to undergo regular dialysis, while economic conditions are almost non-existent. The family really needs the care and help of organizations and individuals to be able to continue to maintain treatment.
Amidst the challenging days, what the family desires is not only material sharing, but also spiritual encouragement to have more will to continue fighting the disease.
