The Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:
Clause 1, Article 8 of Circular 29/2023/TT-BGDDT of the Minister of Education and Training detailing the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Emulation and Commendation for the Education Sector, stipulates that Commemorating the Medal for the Education Career is a form of commendation of the Minister of Education and Training to be given once to individuals in the Education Sector, meeting one of the following criteria:
a) Teachers and educational management staff at educational institutions and educational management agencies (including cadres, civil servants, public employees, and employees with specialized education management work at ministries, ministerial-level agencies, government agencies, departments, branches, agencies, and central organizations) with a working period in the education sector of 20 years or more. In case an individual is sent to study or perform military service, then continue to work in the education sector, the time spent studying or performing military service will be counted as the time spent working in the education sector to be considered for the Commemorative Medal award. The disciplinary period is not counted for the Medal;
b) Individuals who have worked for 05 years or more in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions as prescribed by the Prime Minister shall be considered for the Commemorative Medal 05 years earlier than the time prescribed in Point a of this Clause.
Thus, the conditions for teachers to be awarded the Medal for the cause of education are according to the above regulations.
