Urgently complete infrastructure upgrades
Vietnam Oil Corporation (PVOIL) will pilot the sale of E10 gasoline in Hanoi and Hai Phong, in which, in Hanoi, PVOIL will pilot the sale at 4 locations: Thai Thinh Petroleum Store (Dong Da Ward), Nghia Tan Store (Nghia Do Ward), Lien Ninh Store (Ngoc Hoi Commune), Chau Can Store (Chuyen My Commune).
In Hai Phong, PVOIL is piloting the sale of E10 RON95 gasoline at 2 stores: Thanh To (Hai An ward), Tan Duong (Thuy Nguyen ward).
According to Lao Dong Newspaper on July 28 in Hanoi, gas stations in the PVOIL system expected to pilot are in the process of completing the items of upgrading tanks, installing identification systems and E10 license plates.
A sales staff at a gas station in Hanoi said that the store will upgrade and sink the tank to import E10 RON95 gasoline. The store will not demolish or rebuild but will use the E5 pumping column after it has been properly treated to do business in new types of gasoline.
According to Mr. Cao Hoai Duong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of PVOIL, PVOIL's pilot implementation of E10 gasoline sales from August 1, 2025 aims to help customers gradually get used to the new type of fuel, avoiding causing "shock" in the conversion process.
Regarding the blending system, Mr. Cao Hoai Duong said that PVOIL is upgrading and renovating the current E5 RON92 gasoline blending stations at strategic warehouses across the country, meeting the business needs of E10 RON95 gasoline. The items include repairing tanks, improving the mixing system and updating modern technology to meet the technical standards of E10 gasoline.
In terms of finance and personnel, PVOIL focuses on training and preparing highly qualified technical human resources to operate the E10 gasoline production system effectively. Projects to upgrade and prepare infrastructure for the processing and distribution of E10 gasoline will incur costs for PVOIL. However, as a large unit in the current market, PVOIL is determined to join hands with the Government to ensure the development of green, clean energy in the Vietnamese market - Mr. Cao Hoai Duong affirmed.
According to Mr. Tran Ngoc Nam - Member of the Board of Directors, Deputy General Director of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex), the business of biofuel is an important part of the energy conversion orientation, Petrolimex is upgrading retail infrastructure and expanding the Ethanol fuel mixing network. At the same time, strengthen coordination with domestic and foreign Ethanol manufacturing units to ensure stable supply, serving sustainable biofuel trading activities.
Ready to try if E10 RON95 gasoline is environmentally friendly
According to Mr. Ngo Quang Binh - an office worker in Hoang Mai ward (Hanoi): "Air pollution and climate change are no longer distant concepts, but are directly affecting the quality of daily life. I know that E10 gasoline is mixed with 10% bioalcohol to help reduce emissions. This type of gasoline is environmentally friendly, so I am ready to try it from August 1, 2025. If it is stable, I will switch to using it and introduce it to my family."
Technology drivers and delivery staff - who use motorbikes at high frequency every day also expressed their active support for the E10 biofuel pilot from August 1, 2025.
Mr. Vu Huu Lap - a technology driver in Hanoi said that if E10 gasoline has a reasonable price and is environmentally friendly, it will certainly be widely welcomed by the people. In general, the mentality of being ready for change, proactively accessing information and accompanying the green transformation policy is spreading positively in the community.
I hope E10 gasoline will help save fuel, operate smoother and more environmentally friendly. If there is a price stabilization policy, a channel to receive feedback after the pilot phase and appropriate support for used car users, the mandatory roadmap for using E10 gasoline from January 1, 2026 will be smooth and effective" - Mr. Lap emphasized.
