One-time social insurance application from July 2025

The Lao Dong Newspaper Legal Consulting Office replied:

Article 78 of the Law on Social Insurance 2024 (effective from July 2025) stipulates the application for one-time social insurance benefits as follows:

1. The application for one-time social insurance benefits includes:

a) Social insurance book;

b) Documents requesting one-time social insurance benefits of employees.

2. In the case specified in Point b, Clause 1, Article 70 of this Law, in addition to the documents specified in Clause 1 of this Article, there must be a copy of the certificate of the competent authority on the termination of Vietnamese nationality or a certified or notarized Vietnamese translation of one of the following documents:

a) Passport issued by a foreign country;

b) A visa issued by a competent foreign agency confirming the permission to enter the country to settle abroad;

c) Long-term permanent residence card abroad issued by a competent foreign agency;

d) Other legal documents showing settlement abroad as prescribed by the Government.

3. In the cases specified in Point c, Clause 1 and Point b, Clause 2, Article 70 of this Law, in addition to the documents specified in Clause 1 of this Article, there must be a summary of the medical record or the original or a copy of the discharge paper.

4. In case specified at Point d, Clause 1 and Point c, Clause 2, Article 70 of this Law, in addition to the dossier prescribed in Clause 1 of this Article, there is an additional record of an assessment of the working capacity reduction level of the Medical Examination Council or a copy of a particularly severe degree of disability level.

Thus, from July 1, 2025, the application for one-time social insurance is regulated as above.
