Regulations on vehicle registration re-issuance deadline in 2025

Article 7 of Circular No. 79/2024/TT-BCA (effective from January 1, 2025) regulating the issuance and revocation of vehicle registration certificates, license plates of motor vehicles and specialized motorbikes stipulates the time limit for handling vehicle registration as follows:

1. Issuance of vehicle registration certificate

a) Issuing new vehicle registration certificate, issuing vehicle registration certificate in case of change of vehicle owner, change of vehicle registration certificate: No more than 02 working days from the date of receiving complete and valid documents;

b) Re-issuance of vehicle registration certificate: Verification must be carried out within 30 days from the date of receipt of complete and valid documents; after verification, if eligible, re-issuance will be carried out within 02 working days.

Thus, in case of re-issuing a vehicle registration certificate, the vehicle registration authority must conduct verification within 30 days from the date of receiving a complete and valid application. After verification, if eligible, re-issuance will be made within 02 working days according to the above regulations.
