Expanding majors, training groups
Thai Binh University has just announced information on regular university admissions in 2026. Admission methods are as follows:
- Admission based on the results of the 2026 high school graduation exam and students who won national and international prizes.
- Admission based on academic results of high school subjects (of all 3 years of grades 10, 11, 12 on a 30-point scale) according to the admission subject combination.
- Admission based on the results of the capacity assessment exam of Vietnam National University, Hanoi in 2026.
- Admission based on the results of the thinking assessment exam of Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 2026.
- Admission based on the results of the competency assessment exam of Hanoi National University of Education in 2026.
The total expected target for regular university training majors is: 1,500 targets.
In which, new majors expected to enroll from 2026 include: Automotive Engineering Technology; Textile and Garment Technology; Control and Automation Engineering Technology; International Economics; English Language; Education Quality Management; School Administration; Vietnamese Studies.


This year, the University of Labor and Social Affairs also plans to enroll 8 new majors including: International Business, Financial Technology, Auditing, Digital Economy, Project Management, Economic Law, Psychology, Artificial Intelligence.
Changes in methods and admission combinations
In 2026, the Academy of Finance is expected to enroll 6,120 students using the following methods: direct admission, combined admission, high school graduation exam scores.
For considering graduation exam scores, the school uses 6 combinations including A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry), A01 (Math, Physics, English), D01 (Math, Literature, English), D07 (Math, Chemistry, English), X06 (Math, Physics, Informatics) and X26 (Math, Informatics, English). Compared to last year, the school added two combinations with Informatics.
At the University of Foreign Languages - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, this year, enrollment is applied according to 3 main methods including: direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and Vietnam National University, Hanoi; using high school graduation exam results; considering competency assessment scores (HSA) organized by Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Compared to last year, the school no longer enrolls students from academic transcripts, high school graduation exam scores combined with IELTS and international certificates.
In addition to changing the admission method, the school's 2026 admission combination also decreased sharply from 42 to 24 combinations. The school focuses on blocks with Physics, Chemistry, Biology combined with Mathematics and a foreign language subject (Chinese, Korean, Japanese, German).

In 2026, the University of Commerce is expected to enroll 5,800 students in 51 training programs, an increase of 200 compared to last year.
5 admission methods include: direct admission; based on high school graduation exam results; considering exam scores to assess competence, thinking, SAT, ACT certificates; combining foreign language certificates with graduation exam scores or transcripts; combining provincial-level excellent student awards with graduation exam scores.
For combining foreign language certificates, the University of Commerce converts IELTS and equivalent certificates to this subject's score. In which, at IELTS 5.0, candidates are converted to 8 points. Compared to the announcement in January, this level decreased by 0.5 points. Similarly, instead of IELTS 6.5 to be calculated as 10 points for English, now the requirement is IELTS from 7.0 or higher.
