In 2026, Vietnam Maritime University enrolls 5,200 full-time university level targets with 55 training programs according to 06 independent admission methods:
- Method 1 (PT1): Admission based on the results of the 2026 High School Graduation Exam (THPT). Applied to all training programs.
- Method 2 (PT2): Admission according to the separate project of Vietnam Maritime University applied to all training programs: Admission combining the results of the 2026 high school graduation exam and at the same time candidates meet one of the following criteria:
Criteria 1: Have an international English certificate of IELTS 5.0 or TOEFL 494 ITP or TOEFL 58 iBT or TOEIC (L&R) 595 or higher within the period (as of August 30, 2026).
Criterion 2: Achieving first, second, and third prizes in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History, Geography, Informatics and Foreign Languages in the provincial and city-level excellent student selection exams or higher.
Criterion 3: Study for 03 years of high school in specialized classes: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, English, Informatics, Natural Sciences belonging to specialized schools at the provincial/city level. Have good academic performance or higher and good conduct in grades 10, 11, 12.
- Method 3 (PT3): Admission based on high school academic and training results (assessment of academic records). Applied to 34 training programs under the Technical & Technology group and 02 training programs under the Master's Integrated orientation program group.
- Method 4 (PT4): Admission based on competency assessment exam scores of Hanoi National University or Ho Chi Minh City National University or thinking assessment exam scores of Hanoi University of Science and Technology from October 2025. Applicable to all training programs.
- Method 5 (PT5): Admission combined with international English certificates and transcripts. Applied to high school graduates in 2026 registering for admission to advanced programs.
- Method 6 (PT6): Direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training in Article 8 of the Enrollment Regulations issued together with Circular No. 06/2026/TT-BGDĐT issued on February 15, 2026.
The school notes: High school graduates in 2026 participating in admission methods must have a total score of 03 subjects in the high school graduation exam according to the admission combination (or scores of Math, Literature and another exam subject) reaching at least 15 points (according to the 30-point scale).
