The 2026 university admission regulations issued by the Ministry of Education and Training require a method of admission based on high school academic results (admission records), admission combinations using the common average score of 6 semesters (grades 10, 11, 12) of high school of at least 3 subjects, in which Mathematics or Literature are mandatory, contributing at least 1/3 of the weighting of the admission score in the admission combination.
To be able to ensure requirements as well as be more convenient in admission consideration, many 12th grade students are diligently reviewing and spending time reviewing scores of subjects.
Sharing with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Nguyen Huu Khanh - a 12A8 student at Ben Tre High School (Phu Tho) - said that he felt somewhat worried when having to use the high school academic results of all 6 semesters in university admissions.
In the final months, 12th grade students often focus their time on getting acquainted with the type of test and practicing questions, class study will be partially simplified so that we can focus on the graduation exam. However, this year the regulations have changed, requiring us to use the academic results of all 3 years when considering transcripts, so I have to both review for the graduation exam and not be subjective about studying in class" - Khanh shared.
Although feeling pressured, Khanh still chose to simultaneously consider high school transcripts and use high school exam results in this year's university entrance exam.
To be able to balance both, Khanh said that every day, in addition to practicing exam questions to get used to the structure of the graduation exam, he also spends time reviewing the knowledge he has learned. This will help Khanh both memorize knowledge for the exam and ensure the performance of his report card results.

Also using the transcript-based admission method, Vu Thi Hong Ha - a 12D3 student at Tien Phong High School (Hanoi) - is even more focused on studying in class. Whether it's a 15-minute test or a period, Ha always does the test seriously, without being negligent because just one low score will lead to the results of the whole semester being affected.
Although quite surprised by the new points in the regulations on academic transcript admission, in recent years, the use of academic transcripts has been increasingly tightened, so I have a study plan to not be passive in the face of changes" - Ha said.
Right from the moment she stepped into the door of high school, Ha prepared a clear study path. With excellent academic performance throughout the two years of 10th and 11th grade, the female student was determined that in her final year she would continue to maintain her form to get the most beautiful report card.
With the new requirements in high school transcript admission, not only final year students like me but also students when they first enter high school need to learn and plan their studies early. The change in regulations may make students feel worried when they have to maintain their performance throughout high school, but this is a way for the high school transcript admission method to reflect the most objective efforts of each candidate" - Ha expressed.
Meanwhile, Lu An Nhu - a 12C6 student at Chu Van An High School (Lai Chau) - after learning that this year her report card will be considered based on her academic results from 6 semesters, Nhu plans to learn more about other admission methods such as competency assessment exam scores, combined foreign language certificate admission to increase her chances of being admitted to university.
With the new regulations in academic transcript admission, besides having to carefully review and recalculate scores, I choose to learn about other admission methods. Combining many methods will help me increase my chances of admission without being dependent on one direction" - Nhu said.
Although choosing an additional admission method, in the remaining time of the school year, Nhu still tried to complete her academic results well in the subjects in class, especially the subjects in the admission combination, thereby raising the general average score of her report card.
