Achievements are spread across many competitions
On the evening of August 31, Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc was announced in the Top 24 Beauty With a Purpose at Miss World 2026. Representing Vietnam and also in the Top 6 Asia - Oceania region with the Gen Zero project, alongside Bangladesh, Malaysia, Nepal, Philippines and Sri Lanka.
This result extends Bao Ngoc's streak of achievements at this year's competition.
Before Beauty With a Purpose, the beauty from Can Tho won the Top Model Asia - Oceania region, thereby securing a place in the Top 40 Miss World 2026. She also entered the Top 20 Head-to-Head Challenge, Top 23 Talent. In Head Chef Beauty - a cooking challenge that appeared for the first time at Miss World - Bao Ngoc and the members of the team also won.
Thus, Bao Ngoc has made her mark in many different skill groups: performance, presentation, talent, community activities and team challenges.
This is also a point that makes her journey different from many previous Vietnamese representatives, when achievements often focused on one or two strong points.
However, it is still too early to call Bao Ngoc the representative of Vietnam with the best sub-competition achievement in Miss World history at the present time.
Do My Linh is one of the milestones that is difficult to overcome. At Miss World 2017, the project "Bringing Electricity to the Village" helped her become one of the winners of Beauty With a Purpose. The beauty also won the Head-to-Head Challenge and achieved results in Multimedia. In the end, she stopped at Top 40.
A year later, Tran Tieu Vy continued to help Vietnam achieve high results in Beauty With a Purpose. The "Journey of the Water" project brought her into the Top 5 of this competition and into the Top 30 of Miss World 2018. Tieu Vy was also present in the Top 30 Talent.
Where does Bao Ngoc stand compared to Luong Thuy Linh, Do Thi Ha, Mai Phuong, Y Nhi?
Luong Thuy Linh is the most notable case when placed next to Bao Ngoc.
At Miss World 2019, the beauty from Cao Bang entered the Top 10 Beauty With a Purpose, won the runner-up of Top Model and then advanced to the Top 12 overall. The official page of Miss World still records these three milestones in Luong Thuy Linh's profile.
This is a significant difference: Bao Ngoc is having more widespread achievements, but Luong Thuy Linh was very close to winning the overall Top Model and more importantly, reaching the Top 12 overall.
At Miss World 2024, Mai Phuong won the Multimedia Challenge, thereby winning a ticket to the Top 40. She also reached the Top 25 Head-to-Head but did not make a mark in Talent, Beauty With a Purpose, Sports and Top Model.
Y Nhi at Miss World 2025 also had a relatively even journey. She entered the Top 8 Beauty With a Purpose, Top 20 Multimedia and the second round of Talent, then stopped at the Top 40.
Do Thi Ha has quite good results in the sub-competitions: Top 13 Top Model, Top 16 Head-to-Head Challenge, Top 27 Talent, Top 28 Beauty With a Purpose and overall Top 13 Miss World 2021.
Compared to her predecessors, Bao Ngoc's advantage lies in the coverage of achievements. It is rare for any Vietnamese representative to continuously appear in the prominent group of many challenges in the same season as her.
Notably, the Miss World 2026 format also makes these achievements more directly valuable. Top 2 Beauty With a Purpose are guaranteed Top 20 and Top 12 slots, while the winner of this competition goes straight to the Top 6. The overall winner of Top Model also has a Top 20 slot.
Therefore, whether Bao Ngoc has to represent Vietnam "most comprehensively" in the sub-competitions or not is only really clear after the final on September 5. Currently, she has one of the most diverse achievements, but the bigger challenge is to surpass the final milestone of other beauties who have achieved in the final.
