To be broadcast in time on the night of the 30th of the Lunar New Year, Tao Quan will usually be recorded at the end of January. Tao Quan is recorded continuously for about 3 nights, then post-production and broadcast on New Year's Eve, re-broadcast on the 1st - 2nd days of Tet on VTV channels.
This year, Lunar New Year comes late (in mid-February of the solar calendar) according to the lunar calendar. However, to be on air in time, the program still needs many months of preparation.
Currently, it is early January of the solar calendar, the cast has not had any "stasis" regarding the Tao Quan rehearsal schedule - as usual every year.

Every year, to prepare for Tao Quan, the cast of artists is usually summoned and "put out their voices" very early, around December.
According to many private sources, Tao Quan 2026 has not yet had specific preparations, and there are many calculation options, possibly, it will temporarily stop production of Tao Quan to switch to a newer program that broadcasts on New Year's Eve.
Tao Quan aired in 2003 and has been broadcast for more than 20 years. The program once had a special mark, becoming a brand of television, but at the same time also faced pressure for innovation.
Tao Quan is directed by director - Meritorious Artist Do Thanh Hai as general director, supported by director Khai Anh. In 2025, director Khai Anh left VTV. Director Do Thanh Hai currently holds the position of Deputy General Director of VTV, in charge of many tasks.
Sharing about Tao Quan, director Khai Anh said that it has always been a beautiful memory throughout his more than 20 years of attachment to VFC.
People's Artist Khai Hung is the father of Tao Quan, but the person who transformed it to make Tao Quan a brand, achieved resounding success, is director Do Thanh Hai. Mr. Do Thanh Hai is the soul of Tao Quan. Later, I was named, but the person behind it was always director Do Thanh Hai.
