According to data recorded at Box Office Vietnam, the films on December 19, Avatar 3: Fire and Ashes reached more than 12.96 billion VND, sold 113,631 tickets with 4,270 screenings (total revenue reached 50 billion VND). This number helps the film take the lead, creating a huge gap compared to works behind. The second-placed film is Zootopia: The Skyrocketing episode 2 which only earned nearly VND697 million, with 7,205 tickets and 740 screenings - a revenue of less than one-eighte of the leading film.
The gap will continue to be widened in the following positions. My Neighbor Totoro earned more than 317 million VND, The King of Kings earned about 163.9 million VND, while the remaining films all stood at a few tens of millions of VND. Notably, many works have only sold a few hundred tickets, limited screenings, showing a rather modest attraction before the " MV".
The dominance of Avatar 3: Fire and Ashes comes from many factors. First of all, the weight of the Avatar brand has been affirmed over many years with high-tech cinema experience, eye-catching images and epic-colored stories. The third part continues to expand the pandora world, making the audience more likely to prioritize going to the cinema to enjoy on the big screen, especially high-end chieu formats.
In addition, the issuance strategy plays a key role. With more than 4,000 screenings, the film is almost full of beautiful hours in the theaters nationwide. Meanwhile, the remaining films only have a few dozen to a few hundred screenings, making it difficult to create enough coverage to compete. The difference in ticket prices leading to a clear difference in ticket sales and revenue is understandable.
The psychological factor of the audience also contributes to strengthening the position of this blockbuster. In the context of cheap ticket prices, viewers prioritize choosing "right-handed" movies, especially familiar Hollywood brands. This caused the box office to fall into a state of dominance of a film, while the rest were divided into only a small "piece of cake".

However, the current box office picture also raises the issue of balance. The overwhelming dominance of Avatar 3: Fire and Ashes has made many other works, including Asian films and mid-sized films, have difficulty reaching audiences. Although the content is not necessarily inferior in quality, the limited number of screenings makes it difficult for the revenue to break out.
