Implementing Decision No. 198/QD-BVHTTDL dated January 29, 2026 of the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism on organizing the Film Festival to celebrate the success of the 14th Party Congress, Commemorating the 96th Anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2026) and Celebrating Binh Ngo Spring 2026, the Cinema Department presides over and coordinates with the National Cinema Center, Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism and film production units to organize the Film Festival nationwide.
This is a cultural and film activity of profound political and social significance, aimed at celebrating the success of the 14th National Party Congress - a major political event of the country in a new development stage.
At the same time, the event commemorates the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam, contributing to propagating and educating revolutionary traditions, patriotism, national pride and arousing the spirit of solidarity, self-reliance, and aspiration to develop the country among the people.
Many free screenings
The opening ceremony of the Film Tournament will be solemnly held at 7:00 PM on February 3, 2026 at the National Cinema Center (87 Lang Ha, Hanoi). The feature film Thanh am vuot dai duong produced by Film Feature Joint Stock Company I was chosen to be screened on the opening night.
At the National Cinema Center, audiences will enjoy typical feature films of Vietnamese cinema such as: Thanh am vuot dai duong, Tu chien tren khong, Dia doa - Mat troi trong anh toi, Chiec chia cua vang, Mui co chay, Thau Chin o Xiem. The Center will distribute 0 VND invitation tickets to audiences from 8:30 am on January 31, 2026.
The film screening schedule includes: opening ceremony on the evening of February 3rd with the movie "Sounds Beyond the Ocean" at 7:30 PM. On February 4th, screenings of the movie "The Tunnels - Sun in the Dark" at 10:00 AM and "Sounds Beyond the Ocean" at 8:00 PM. On February 5th, screenings of the movie "The Golden Key" at 10:00 AM and "The Tunnels - Sun in the Dark" at 8:00 PM.

On February 6th, screenings of "Burning Grass" at 10:00 AM and "Air Battle" at 8:00 PM. On February 7th, screenings of "Thou Chin in Siam" at 10:00 AM and "Air Battle" at 8:00 PM. On February 8th, screenings of "The Golden Key" at 10:00 AM and "Burning Grass" at 8:00 PM.
Spreading revolutionary cinema to grassroots levels
In addition to screenings in Hanoi, the Department of Cinema coordinates with Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, film distribution centers, cultural - cinema centers, cultural - art centers of provinces and centrally-run cities to organize mobile film screenings nationwide. Films using state budget, including feature films, documentaries - science films and animated films, will be widely disseminated, especially in remote areas, industrial parks, and armed forces.
The list of mobile screenings includes feature films such as Thau Chin in Siam, Duong xuyen rung; documentaries such as: 7 quang nhan sinh Diem Phung Thi, Musician Van Cao - a talent of the century, Sheu co ve phuong Nam? and animated films Nhung vien bi sac mau, Thoat game, Sac mau cua nui, Pook-ba-ga.
