New signing boy band CORTIS under Big Hit Music has just released a series of new teaser photos for their debut mini album Color Outside The Lines, scheduled to be released on September 8 (Korean time).
In the photo series, the members appear in a youthful, mischievous style. Instead of posing elaborately, the group chose to act naturally as if recording everyday moments: Taking photos together when going out with friends, or spontaneously posing in front of a photobooth on the street. In particular, the last group photo brings a feeling of both closeness and suggests personality.
The name of the mini album Color Outside The Lines is also directly inspired by the meaning of the group name - CORTIS, expressing the spirit of breaking the framework, not afraid to experiment to shape unique musical colors. This is also considered the message Big Hit Music sent: CORTIS will be the next generation, finding its own path in the global Kpop market.
However, the upcoming launch of CORTIS also poses many challenges. With the title of BTS next-up group, the expectations for CORTIS are huge. However, it is this pressure that can become a barrier if the group does not quickly affirm their identity instead of living under the shadow of their seniors. In the context of Kpop competing fiercely with a series of rookies from large and small companies, maintaining long-term appeal is not easy.
However, the youthful, different image launch shows that CORTIS is trying to build its own mark. mini album Color Outside The Lines will be the first test to assess whether the group is strong enough to break through and continue to write success for Big Hit Music in the post-BTS era.
