Xuan Lan is considered one of the typical faces of Vietnamese fashion, especially belonging to the pioneering generation of models in the period 1996-1997.
She is affectionately called "Vietnamese fashion icon" or "Kate Moss Vietnam" by the media thanks to her distinctive performance style and strong personal imprint.
Xuan Lan was once compared to supermodel Kate Moss thanks to possessing a angular face, cold aura and a personality bob hairstyle imbued with mannequin style. She quickly created a unique image on the fashion catwalk at that time.
Her style is associated with minimalism, strength and somewhat rebelliousness, contributing to changing perceptions of model beauty in Vietnam, similar to how Kate Moss once made her mark in the world.
Supermodel Xuan Lan is the judge of Vietnam's Next Top Model season 2 (in 2011), season 3 (in 2012) and season 5 (in 2014), contributing to finding champions such as Hoang Thuy (season 2) and Mai Giang (season 3).

Not only successful on the catwalk as a vedette, Xuan Lan also expanded her activities into the fields of cinema and theater, participating in some projects such as "Long-legged Girls", "Broken Hair", "Model" and plays "Two-piece Killer", "Invisible Gun", "Bikini".
After leaving the catwalk, Xuan Lan switched to the role of film producer and model training. However, her journey into cinema encountered many difficulties and has not achieved the expected results.
The debut project "The Price of Happiness", starring actor Thai Hoa, only grossed about 23 billion VND, becoming one of the low-grossing films in 2024.
In 2025, she continued to try her hand at the comedy - romance genre through the movie "Marrying a Wife for Father", with the expectation of reaching a wider audience, but this work also did not create a breakthrough when revenue stopped at nearly 10 billion VND.
Xuan Lan frankly said that after 2 film projects, she and her husband lost about 30 billion VND - a very large number for people without a solid business or financial foundation.
According to her, the biggest lesson after these failures is the unpredictability of audience tastes. In the context of the increasingly fragmented film market, each audience group has its own taste, making trend predictions no longer as accurate as before.
From monitoring the box office and after two consecutive failures, Xuan Lan and her husband decided to temporarily stop film production.
She said that she will spend time "re-learning from scratch", carefully studying the market and especially the young audience group - the key factor determining the success or failure of theatrical films today.
