ADOR's new move in the lawsuit with Danielle NewJeans

DI PY |

ADOR has just changed the legal team in the lawsuit with Danielle amidst the exclusive contract dispute of NewJeans members that is attracting attention.

According to South Korean media, ADOR has appointed 4 new lawyers from Rihan Law Firm and simultaneously submitted a request to change the trial schedule to the court. This move comes shortly after 5 lawyers from Kim & Chang Law Firm - the unit that once represented ADOR - simultaneously withdrew from the case last month.

Notably, Rihan Law Firm is also a unit that once represented Bang Si Hyuk in issues related to allegations of capital market law violations in Korea.

The first official hearing of the lawsuit is scheduled to take place on May 14, at the Seoul Central Court, about 2 months after the preliminary hearing held at the end of March.

Previously, ADOR filed a lawsuit against Danielle, claiming compensation for damages of about 43 billion won, equivalent to about 31 million USD, after the female idol terminated her exclusive contract with the company at the end of last year.

ADOR believes that Danielle and former CEO Min Hee Jin must bear significant responsibility for NewJeans leaving the company and delaying the group's return.

The case is currently being handled by the same civil department of the Seoul Central Court - which previously issued a ruling in favor of Min Hee Jin in a legal dispute related to stock options with HYBE.

In addition to the compensation lawsuit, South Korean media reported that the court had accepted ADOR's request in February to temporarily seize real estate in the name of Danielle and Min Hee Jin's mother. The total value of the request is estimated at about 7 billion won, of which 2 billion won is related to Danielle's mother and 5 billion won is related to Min Hee Jin.
