According to Korean media, the press conference for Genie TV's "Namib" was held at D-Cube City in Sindorim, Guro-gu, Seoul.
The event was attended by director Kang Min Goo and actors Ryeoun, Yoon Sang Hyun, Lee Jin Woo. Actress Go Hyun Jung, who was originally scheduled to attend, was absent due to sudden health problems.
“Namib” tells the story of Kang Soo Hyun (played by Go Hyun Jung), a former star producer who was fired, and Yoo Jin Woo (played by Ryeoun), a long-time trainee who was fired from his management company. The two pursue their personal goals together, creating an engaging drama.
Prior to the press conference, online communities and social media were full of speculation, with some suggesting that "Namib" could be inspired by Min Hee Jin, the former CEO of ADOR (who created NewJeans).
Responding to these rumors, director Kang Min Goo stated that he was aware of the speculations, but this project had been planned and produced long before the incident (i.e. the noise between Min Hee Jin and ADOR). The male director said that he was not worried about the bad rumors.
The crew's work is separate, he added. They remain fully focused on their own production process, unmoved by the surrounding speculation.
