Striker Nguyen Xuan Son had an impressive debut for the Vietnamese national team, scoring two goals and providing two assists in the team's victory over Myanmar on the evening of December 21. Xuan Son's performance contributed greatly to Vietnam's 5-0 win and a ticket to the semi-finals of the ASEAN Cup 2024 as Group B's top scorer.
Sharing at the press conference after the match, Xuan Son could not hide his happiness: "I feel very happy. Today is a special night for me. I will never forget this day in my life. Thank you to the fans, teammates and coaches for supporting me. I will enjoy tonight."
Evaluating the match against Myanmar, Xuan Son said: "In the first half, we missed a few chances but the team has some young players so it's normal to be nervous when finishing. In the second half, the team came back strong and scored many goals."
"It's true that my family and I learn the Vietnamese National Anthem together little by little, practicing every day. We respect the team, the fans and everyone. Whenever I have free time, I learn Vietnamese to connect with everyone. I hope in 2-3 years I can talk to everyone," Xuan Son added.
