At the press conference introducing the movie "Len Huong" in Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of September 7, actress Hong Dao shared about her special experience when taking on a role in the work of director Khuong Ngoc.
In the film, Hong Dao has about 5 days of filming at a funeral home. The setting and stories surrounding the funerals make the actress think a lot about the relationship between the deceased and the survivor.
Hong Dao believes that there is a special circle between the two sides. Living people hope that the deceased can leave peacefully, while before the deceased, each person also hopes that the loved ones left can continue to live happily and happily.
From then on, she had a different view of funeral work - a profession that is often associated with loss and sadness.
When a funeral is taken care of properly, those who stay behind will feel relieved. When those who stay behind are relieved, those who leave are also at peace. I see that the funeral profession helps both the deceased and those who stay behind feel more relieved," Hong Dao shared.
Another detail that caught the actress's attention during filming was the coffins that had been pre-written with the owner's name.
Initially, Hong Dao was surprised, then explained about the concept that some people prepared a coffin for her in advance with the desire for longevity.
This experience made her realize that things that often create feelings of fear are sometimes seen in a different sense in life and folk beliefs.
Notably, Hong Dao frankly spoke about her thoughts about life and death.
I am at this age, U70, and also have some health problems. So I thought about leaving. But thinking about it, I am still scared," the actress said.
Hong Dao recalled the words of Dr. Do Hong Ngoc that she once heard: If you want to live lightly, don't be afraid of hunger and don't be afraid of death.
But who is not afraid of death?", she asked.
After working days with the funeral setting of "Len Huong", that thought gradually changed. Hong Dao realized that in the film, among the survivors, there is still suffering, regret, arguments or snatching, while the person who has fallen gives up everything.
“I think this is the law of life. We have to accept death. When I think like that, I naturally feel lighter,” Hong Dao shared.
But what made the actress think more was not death, but the regrets of the living.
According to Hong Dao, when a person falls, relatives often regret and think "if only I had done this", "if only I had done that".
Therefore, instead of waiting until she passes away to regret it, the female artist believes that everyone should cherish relationships when there is still an opportunity.
It's better when we are still living together, we treat each other more beautifully, gently, and love each other more," Hong Dao said.
The actress said that is also one of the things she received after participating in "Len Huong" and working with director Khuong Ngoc and the crew.
