Ho Chi Minh City - Regarding the 6-story hotel fire in Tan Son Nhi ward that killed 2 people, there are currently 9 victims being actively treated.

Records at Thong Nhat Hospital said that on the morning of September 7, the hospital received 6 victims in the hotel fire in Tan Son Nhi ward. Patients were transferred to the Departments of Respiratory Medicine and Cardiovascular Medicine for monitoring and treatment.

According to medical records, the victims mainly suffered from CO poisoning due to inhaling smoke from the fire.

Among them, a female patient born in 1990 was diagnosed with severe CO poisoning. Currently, the patient is awake, reduced shortness of breath, dry cough, reduced chest pain but still throat pain.

The male patient born in 2006 also suffered severe CO poisoning, the condition was severe, with the risk of endotracheal intubation and HFNC ventilation. Currently, the patient is awake, has good contact, but pulmonary ventilation is reduced on both sides.

The female patient born in 2007 was diagnosed with CO poisoning, currently wheezing, mild shortness of breath, dry cough and sore throat. The patient was awake and had good contact.

Notably, the male patient born in 1962 suffered severe CO poisoning due to smoke inhalation, and also second-degree burns on both hands, with a history of hypertension and dyslipidemia. Currently, the patient is awake and has good contact.

A female patient born in 1988 was also diagnosed with CO poisoning. The patient was awake, with pink skin and mucous membranes, no skin burns but black smoke all over the body; regular heart, clear ventilation in the lungs...

Currently, the hospital continues to closely monitor the victims, especially the case of a male patient born in 2006 due to the risk of severe respiratory progression.

At Children's Hospital 1, the unit received patient L.T.D. B (2 years old) in the fire with a diagnosis of smoke inhalation in the 2nd hour at the time of admission. The patient's health condition is temporarily stable. Currently, the patient is being monitored at the Emergency Department.

Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, People's Hospital 115 informed that the unit received 2 patients who were suffocated by smoke due to a fire in Tan Son Nhi ward.

Among them, patient T.T. Y. N (female, 20 years old) was diagnosed with moderate smoke inhalation, monitoring for CO poisoning. At the Emergency Department after being admitted, patient Y.N was assessed and treated according to the smoke inhalation treatment protocol issued by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, then transferred to the Respiratory Department for continued monitoring, treatment and care according to the protocol.

Patient P.V. B (male, 25 years old) was diagnosed with moderate smoke inhalation, monitoring for CO poisoning. At the Emergency Department after being admitted, patient V.B was assessed and treated according to the smoke inhalation treatment protocol issued by the Department of Health, then transferred to the Intensive Care and Anti-poison Department to continue monitoring, treatment and care according to the protocol.

As Lao Dong Newspaper reported, on September 7, Ho Chi Minh City Police examined the scene and investigated the cause of the Thuy Duong hotel fire on Tan Ky Tan Quy street, Tan Son Nhi ward, which killed 2 tenants.

The two deceased victims were identified as Mr. N.T. N. H (24 years old, residing in Phu Dinh ward) and Ms. H.T. H (20 years old, from Hue city). During the firefighting process, functional forces guided and rescued many people safely from the hotel.

According to initial information, the fire occurred in the early morning. People discovered the fire, shouted and tried to put out the fire but failed. The fire quickly broke out, smoke covered the area inside the hotel.

After a few minutes, the fire was extinguished. Checking inside the hotel, functional forces discovered two deaths. Accordingly, both victims were guests who came to rent rooms at the hotel.

The bodies of the two victims were transferred to the morgue to serve the autopsy. Ho Chi Minh City Police are examining the scene, clarifying the cause of the fire and related details.
