Information that the movie "Good Partner 2" (Perfect Partner 2) is scheduled to air in the second half of this year on the Friday - Saturday slot of SBS is receiving attention from audiences.
According to Korean media, the preparation process for "Good Partner 2" started in March and is currently entering the filming stage.
The first season of "Good Partner" aired in 2024, revolving around the journey of adulthood of veteran divorce lawyer Cha Eun Kyung and young lawyer Han Yu Ri when they jointly resolve many cases related to marriage and family.
Written by former divorce lawyer Choi Yoo Na, the film received many compliments for truthfully exploiting issues such as adultery, custody disputes, post-divorce alimony and psychological trauma behind each breakup.
The work recorded unexpected success when ratings continuously increased throughout the broadcast period. From 7.8% in the first episode, the film reached the highest level of 17.7% in episode 7 and closed with an rating of 15.2% in the last episode.
Not only commercially successful, "Good Partner" is also highly appreciated for balancing legal elements and the life story. Instead of focusing only on court sessions, the film expands to family issues, personal maturity and the healing journey of the characters.
In the new season, Jang Nara continues to return with the role of lawyer Cha Eun Kyung. Recently, the actress delighted fans when posting images from the film set with the caption: "This is Cha Eun Kyung" as a confirmation for her long-awaited comeback.
One of the most notable changes of "Good Partner 2" lies in the cast. Nam Ji Hyun will not participate due to schedule constraints, instead Kim Hye Yoon - a star who received much love after the success of "Carrying You and Running" and most recently the movie "Mada Korea: Swallowing People".
According to the producer, Kim Hye Yoon will create a completely new relationship with Jang Nara's character. In the first introduction, Cha Eun Kyung confidently says: "Just trust me", before the new character replies: "No, trust me". This short response quickly attracted attention and increased expectations for the chemical reaction between the two actresses.
In addition, Park Hae Jin also confirmed his participation in the project as a lawyer from a rival company, promising to create more new conflicts in the story. PO (Pyo Ji Hoon) will also take on an important role in season two.
