From the goal of double-digit growth to the aspiration to become a developed, high-income country by 2045, Vietnam is facing the requirement to promote the development of new growth drivers.
At the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, it emphasized the establishment of a new growth model of Vietnam based on the pillars of digital economy, green economy and circular economy; and emphasized the requirement to promote digital transformation, green transformation and energy transformation.
An economy that wants to grow rapidly needs abundant energy sources. But an economy that wants to develop sustainably needs a green energy system that is capable of operating stably. To realize the goal of double-digit economic growth in the coming years, energy is identified as one of the foundational factors, playing the "blood vessel" role of the economy.
In the context that the demand for electricity, fuel and new forms of energy is forecast to continue to increase strongly along with the process of industrialization, infrastructure development, digital transformation and production expansion, ensuring safe, continuous energy supply at reasonable costs is becoming an urgent requirement. In parallel with that is the task of gradually transitioning to low-emission, environmentally friendly energy sources.
This orientation is also affirmed in Resolution No. 70-NQ/TW of the Politburo on firmly ensuring national energy security to 2030, with a vision to 2045. However, the energy transition process in Vietnam is still facing many challenges in terms of mechanisms, policies, infrastructure, investment resources and market development.
In order to promote the energy transition process and effectively implement the Party's Resolution, Lao Dong Newspaper in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Trade organizes the Workshop "Energy Transition - Driving Force for Two-digit Growth Goals" at 2:00 PM on June 9, 2026 at the Headquarters of Lao Dong Newspaper, No. 6 Pham Van Bach, Cau Giay, Hanoi.
The conference will be broadcast live on https://news.laodong.vn/ ; and other platforms of Lao Dong Newspaper.
The workshop is part of the "Green Transformation Day 2026" series of events organized annually by Lao Dong Newspaper, aiming to promote the green transformation process in Vietnam.
Through presentations and in-depth discussion sessions, the conference is expected to propose practical solutions to improve mechanisms and policies, develop the energy market, create motivation for the energy transition process, ensure national energy security and contribute to the country's rapid and sustainable growth goals in the new period.
