Heavenly Ever After is a fantasy romance film, about Lee Hae Sook (Kim Hye Ja) - who went to heaven at the age of 80 and reunited with her husband Ko Nak Joon (Son Suk Koo) - who is in his 30s.
Hae Sook and Nak Joon's lives were turned upside down when the mysterious girl So Mi ( Han Ji Min) appeared. Although she has lost all the memories and the place she came from, the only memory left in her mind is the name Go Nak Joon.
Therefore, at first, Hae Sook was quite cautious with So Mi, as if she was facing an enemy. But then, So Mi became the one who stayed at the couple's house, arousing the audience's curiosity about her true identity.
As a work of interest on Korean screens in April, more beautiful than Paradise marks many interesting reunion shows of director Kim Suk Yoon with the cast. For example, Son Suk Koo - this is the second time he has worked with the actor since "My freedom documentary" (2022).
With Han Ji Min, the actress reunites with the director for the 4th time since the movie Detective K (2011). The star said that she accepted to participate in this project without any hesitation: When I heard that the director would collaborate with senior Kim Hye Ja again, I wanted to participate regardless of the role.
When I received the script, I stayed up all night to read it because the plot was so attractive. The concept of being able to choose the age you want to remember the most when going to heaven is special. The idea that life doesnt end in heaven but continues as a journey, and you have to live well there like you do here is what makes this story different.
According to Han Ji Min, to transform into So Mi, she acted while thinking from the perspective of the audience, with the constant question in her head: "What kind of person is So Mi and how should I express the confusion and disappointment of the character?".
After the success of the film My perfect Secretary (ending in mid-February 2025), more beautiful than Paradise is expected to be the work that helps Han Ji Min consolidate her reputation through her acting skills.
In addition, the 43-year-old star is actively negotiating to star in the romantic film "Efficient dating for singles" with Park Sung Hoon.
The project revolves around the story of a girl who, because she decided to seek love, met two guys with different appeal at once in a flash. From there, she gradually discovered the true meaning of love.
Han Ji Min was invited to play the female lead - a modern, warm hotel owner in both love and marriage.
