Sao Mai Rendezvous" was born in 2004, is one of the first music competitions in Vietnam to have direct interaction and voting from the audience.
At the end of the first season, the competition recorded the outstandingness of 2 contestants: Tung Duong and Kasim Hoang Vu. In which, Tung Duong won the First Prize according to the Arts Council's assessment, while Kasim Hoang Vu won thanks to receiving the highest number of votes from the audience.
Tung Duong won the first prize of the first season voted by the Arts Council when he was only 21 years old, currently a student of the Vocal Department of the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
At the competition, he impressed with his powerful voice and contemporary folk style. The male singer once shared that at that time the economy was still difficult, his mother had to stay up all night to sew performance costumes for her son.

After the competition, he persistently pursued the path of art, released 6 studio albums, held 10 liveshows and won many prestigious awards. He is called "Divo" (male singer) by experts, famous for the albums "Run away", "Colors of cube blocks", "Li ti", "Doc dao" and the hit song "Chiec khan pieu".
Recently, he has attracted attention by refreshing youth songs and having hits "Rebirth", "One Round of Vietnam". Regarding his private life, in 2010, he married Giang Pham and welcomed his son Mac Lam in 2015.
Kasim Hoang Vu was crowned "Sao Mai Rendezvous 2004" thanks to the overwhelming number of votes from the audience. Born into a family with artistic traditions, being the son of "rock queen" Bich Phuong, he soon pursued music with his own personality after leaving the competition.
The male singer successively released albums "Because of Love", "Because of Where", "Because of Stars", "Because of You" and "Nostalgia".

In 2013, he introduced the album "Goi Nhau Ve" including 5 songs composed by himself, but this product did not create the expected effect. In the following years, Kasim Hoang Vu chose to step back, spending more time with his family and private life.
In 2018, the male singer suddenly showed off photos of his son and shared about his wife with whom he has been attached for more than 10 years. It is known that he and his wife have held an engagement ceremony but have not held a wedding.
Nguyen Hong Nhung was once a face that attracted attention at the first season of "Sao Mai Rendezvous" thanks to her bright appearance and vibrant performance style. After the competition, she worked domestically for a while before moving to the US to live and develop her career.
In 2010, she married Quy Nguyen - the younger brother of singer Trizzie Phuong Trinh and broke up in 2013. After that, Hong Nhung had a period of attachment to businessman Minh Quan, but in September 2019, she confirmed the termination of the relationship. In early 2023, the female singer publicly announced her new boyfriend Dominico Le.

Currently, she mainly performs abroad to conveniently take care of her two children. In March 2024, Nguyen Hong Nhung returned to Vietnam to introduce the album Moc Vol. 2 to domestic audiences.
At "Sao Mai Rendezvous" 2004, Ngoc Khue was remembered by the audience with the nickname "Chuon Chuon Ot" after performing the song of the same name by musician Le Minh Son, expressed by a colorful falsetto singing style. She won the Second Prize voted by the Arts Council.
After the competition, Ngoc Khue graduated with honors in Vocal Music from the University of Culture and Arts of the Army, and then completed an excellent graduate program at Hanoi University of Culture. Since 2012, she has been a Vocal Music lecturer at Hanoi University of Culture.

Besides teaching, the female singer also participates in the judging panel and advisory council of many television programs such as "Vietnam Idol", "The Voice", "The Voice Kids Vietnam", "Sao Mai", "Your Face Sounds Familiar"... Ngoc Khue is currently happy with her husband - DJ Huy Ngo. She gave birth to her second child - baby Khung Long in 2025 at the age of 42.
