The Vietnam - Belarus visa exemption agreement, applicable to ordinary passport holders of the two countries, was signed by Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang and Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Evgeny Shestakov on December 8, 2023.
The visa exemption agreement for ordinary passport holders between Vietnam and Belarus officially took effect from January 30, 2025, according to the announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Citizens of both countries holding ordinary passports are exempted from visa for 30 days for each entry. Total stay is not more than 90 days in a year.
The signing of the Visa Exemption Agreement for Ordinary Passport Holders between Vietnam and Belarus is a clear demonstration, marking a new step forward in the friendly relations between the two countries. At the same time, the agreement will open up many opportunities for extensive cooperation in many fields.
This is an effort of the Vietnamese Government to facilitate international tourists in general, and Belarusian tourists in particular, to come to Vietnam. Thereby, contributing to tourism development, enhancing cooperation, cultural exchange, market research and promoting the development of bilateral relations in many fields.
Vietnam and Belarus signed an agreement on visa exemption for diplomatic and official passport holders in 1993. Since 2015, Belarusian citizens, regardless of passport type, have been unilaterally exempted from visas when entering Vietnam.
When the bilateral visa exemption agreement between Vietnam and Belarus officially takes effect, Vietnamese citizens can enter 52 destinations around the world without a visa or visa on arrival (VOA) and electronic travel authorization (ETA).
