Ho Chi Minh City is urgently completing the final stages to welcome the 20th UN (UN) Vesak Ceremony, which takes place from 6 to 8.5.2025 at the Vietnam Buddhist Academy (Binh Chanh District). This is an exceptional foreign cultural external event of the Vietnam Buddhist Church (Vietnam Buddhist Sangha) and the whole country, taking place in the context of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South, reunification of the country and 80 years of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Detailed information about this important event was announced by Venerable Thich Duc Thien, Vice President - General Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Vice President - General Secretary of the National Organizing Committee for the 2025 Vesak Festival, at a regular press conference on the socio-economic situation in Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of April 17.

Venerable Thich Duc Thien affirmed that Vietnam's hosting of the National Day Vesak Festival is a golden opportunity to introduce to international friends the image of a Vietnam that loves peace, friendship, solidarity and harmony, a dynamic, creative and prosperous Ho Chi Minh City after 50 years of development.
With the main theme "Solidarity and tolerance for humanity: Buddhist education for world peace and sustainable development", the Festival will include many rich activities such as international scientific conferences with hundreds of valuable lectures, unique Buddhist cultural and artistic events, cultural exhibitions, flower lantern ceremonies, etc.
In particular, the opening ceremony of worshiping the Buddha Buddha of Indian national treasures at Thanh Tam Pagoda, Binh Chanh District and the Bodhisattva's heart of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc in Vietnam Quoc Tu (District 10).
The main venue for the opening ceremony, closing ceremony and seminar sessions is the Hall of the Vietnam Buddhist Academy (Le Minh Xuan Facility, Binh Chanh district).
Cultural and festival events to honor the Buddha's benefits will take place at Thanh Tam Pagoda and Lang Le Park (next to the Academy).
The international art exchange night is expected to gather art troupes from many countries and will be held at Sala Theater (Thu Duc City). The organizing committee also arranged a tour program to visit Sun World Nui Ba Den Cultural Tourist Area (Tay Ninh) for delegates after the closing ceremony.
It is expected that the Festival will welcome about 1,200 international delegates from 85 countries and territories, along with about 1,500 domestic delegates who are leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, representatives of the Party, State, central and local ministries, departments and branches, and a large number of outstanding Buddhists. The force serving the Great Festival is up to thousands of people, including donors, volunteer students and Buddhists.
