Hoai Nhan said that from elementary school years, he nurtured the dream of becoming a singer. In 2012, he became an exclusive singer of a lion and dragon dance troupe, gradually building his career with the stage name Jay Hoo.
2015 is a memorable milestone when he decided to study abroad in Korea for two years. Here, in addition to studying, Hoai Nhan also sings at weddings and Vietnamese community events to maintain his passion for music and cover living expenses.
After returning to Vietnam in 2017, the male singer invested in making his debut music products such as "I Wanna Feel", "New Road" and "The End of Nostalgia". However, when everything just started to go smoothly, unexpected events happened.
Just a few months after returning to the country, his health began to decline. In April 2018, Hoai Nhan discovered severely reduced vision and was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. In 2019, he completely lost his vision.
The event caused the male singer's life to fall into the darkest period. "I don't want to meet anyone, I don't dare to listen to music. In my dreams, I still see my eyes bright, but when I wake up, I only know how to curl up and cry. I'm afraid my own crying will make my loved ones even more heartbroken," Hoai Nhan shared.

Not only facing difficulties in daily life, he also has a feeling of inferiority when thinking about returning to the stage. The male singer admitted that he was once afraid that the audience would no longer love him as before but only give him pity.
The turning point came when Hoai Nhan attended a music exchange in Can Tho. Witnessing the image of a father playing guitar for his son to sing and listening to encouragement from a Cai Luong artist, he gradually regained his motivation to live.
She told me that you are an artist, if there is still someone who wants you to sing, you must also sing. It was that saying that kept me with music," he recalled.
From 2020, Hoai Nhan returned to Ho Chi Minh City, actively participating in music playgrounds, trying his hand at many genres such as bolero, lyrical music and accompanying activities for the visually impaired community.
In June 2026, he officially marked his return with the music short film project "Light where I am". The product has the participation and support of many colleagues and veteran artists such as Kim Xuan and Thanh Loc.
According to Hoai Nhan, this is not only an artistic product but also a story told by his own experience – from the days of sinking into inferiority to learning to accept and move forward.
Currently, the male singer has adapted to a new life. He can cook for himself, do housework and is aiming to learn to dance and try his hand at acting in the future.
Music saved me from the darkest days. I want to use my story to spread positive energy to young people and those facing adversity," Hoai Nhan said.
