According to the designer, after he locked the TikTok channel "Thai Cong", many rumors appeared on social networks that he had a major upheaval in life. Some people even speculated that Thai Cong went bankrupt, had a mental crisis, or was involved in a scandal.
I am not bankrupt, not in mental crisis, not hacked or the channel crashed. I am simply tired of spending too much time on social networks," Thai Cong said.
The male designer said that he once shared that he would use Facebook and TikTok less, but this quickly became a topic of discussion online. According to him, the reaction of the online community shows that many people are too dependent on social networks and always want to react quickly to all information.
Thai Cong believes that TikTok and online platforms are gradually turning people into "reaction machines". Everything must be short, fast, shocking and controversial to keep viewers' attention for a few seconds.
We live in an era where patience is as short as goldfish, our ability to concentrate is getting worse and our emotions are always in a state of explosion," he shared.
The interior designer also said that he was surprised that just a few hours after locking TikTok, the social network, a series of speculations about his personal condition appeared. Some people thought he was depressed, others thought this was a media trick.
According to Thai Cong, social networks were initially created to connect people, but now many platforms have become places for users to vent their frustrations, disappointments and judge each other. He believes that many people go on Facebook or TikTok no longer to learn but mainly to argue or attack others.
The designer also expressed concern about the fact that short, shocking content easily receives a large amount of interaction, while long and constructive views are less noticed.
The scariest thing is that social networks make us think we are connected to the world, but in fact we are lonelier than ever," he said.
Although admitting that social networks once helped him spread his work, lifestyle and aesthetic views to a large audience, Thai Cong believes that this is also a "double-edged sword". He believes that at some point, everyone needs to step out of the "noise" of the Internet to look back at themselves.
I think the biggest success today is no longer how many people see it, but still maintaining a calm mind in a world that is always shouting to gain attention," Thai Cong shared.
